Here is a perfect reason as to why government should NEVER be trusted to do ..... anything....

Take $113 billion dollars divided by 53.5 million children and you get.... $1,965.00 or $163 a month. The insurance (low income health coverage) would be horrific, it would be absolutely horrible but hey, it's something. BUT .. using my programs from when I was a insurance agent, I can see that for a child (adults not included) on average for a healthy kid under 19 you could get equivalent care for around $70. You could get very good care for about $100 (this all per month). If Government wasn't what it is theoretically $113/b would cover well over 80 million children with good health coverage, not that medicaid bs. And we all know that in practice Government could never actually cover 53 million more like 20 million for $113/b.

Put into a real scenario:
The average US state spends almost $4,500 a year per person on Medicaid. Yeah, that crappy medical program with subpar care that you get for free. That's $375 a month .. do you understand what kind of private health-care insurance plan you can get for $375/pp a month? Since the average household on medicaid has at least 3 recipients that's $1125 a month. We spend almost quadruple on Medicaid alone than our nations schools!

Government is corrupt .. whether it's the war in Afghanistan or crappy health coverage like Medicaid, what ever Government does it will be entirely inefficient and wasteful!

We need to stop classifying the war as Obama's or Bush's etc....

The wars are killing the economy.

LMFAO... Obama's war in Afghanistan??? That's like blaming Hillary Clinton for The war of 1812.

Very bad analogy. Really doesn't make sense. Mrs. Bill Clinton has never been a President. The War of 1812 was asked for by James Madison, it started and ended on his watch. In fact opponents of the War of 1812 called it "Mr. Madison's War."

When talking about Afghanistan, how in the blue hell can you bring up Mrs. Bill Clinton and the War of 1812, and have any credibility at all?

Obama ran as an anti-war President and didn't end the wars he promised to stop. In the past a war would last 1-4 years at the most .. we would withdraw .. now going on 11 years? Obama assumed ownership of the war(s) when he failed to end them. Clearly he must want them to continue. Of course, this would assume that Presidents actually have control over their policies?

I have no problem with securing oil as our country depends on that for our way of living but I just do see the justification for Afghanistan.

What do you call that--your "killing is OK as long as it's for the purpose of stealing" policy?

only problem is that as long as government and militaries are spending billions on toys that blow stuff up, there's always enough people that feel this new technology has to be field tested, and using it against Congo or Nigeria doesn't prove it's value, taking on China is too risky in case of glitches in the equipment.
Lybia, Iran , and Iraq all have oil, plus control the last two and you have a gateway to oil fields in the Caucases also if need be.
Afganistan and Pakistan puts troops on Chinas' doorstep.

Nice try at subverting the truth.

It is and always will be Bush's war.

Anyone who comes afterward is merely continuing the charade.

But keep it up.

Maybe your fright-wing overlords and libertarian demigods can save you from this menace.

Don't count on it.

They're all one and the same.

Ya hopefully though we will pull out quickly in Afghanistan by 2015 and we will recoup the costs. And hopefully though the European nation should ma up and spend more on their defense instead of relying on us to do the job all the time(EX: Libya) www.guardian.co.uk...

It's neither Obama's war nor is it Bush's war.
So long as Congress continues to fund it, all while cutting funding for domestic programs left and right, it's Congress' war, and by proxy, our wars.

No one person, president or not, can be responsible for its continuation, not until the congressional collective says enough.
You want to blame, hate, impeach remove and vilify an entity?
Start with them.

You know what else is going on with China, they still have their One-Child policy, which gets funds from the UN, which really translates into US taxpayers paying for Chinese abortions, and they have 3 tril in the bank? They can jolly well pay for their own abortions now.

Oh right! It's Bush's fault that not only did Obama stay in the war after he promised to get out, he added another war, Libya. Libya is Obama's wer. You can't deny that.

When you have a colossal military budget, it means you have to divert resources from other areas. Like education, for example. Which includes instruction in the English language. Think about that for awhile.

He never promised we would be out of there in 2008 as he has been saying all along that our involvement would conclude by 2014 as that has been the plan all along and recommend to you to double cheque your facts before you spew lies!

Obama is a puppet just like Bush was, everyone thinks the President calls the shots...........isn't how the game is played.

Read my location and research which companies and individuals profit from the war machine.

There is more money for TPTB (the real PTB) in war vs making our society better for it's people.

This is what happens when you allow corporations to run a country.

Welcome to the New World Order, Daddy Bush openly talked about.

And this is now going global folks, so the rest of the world reading this better take notice.

With all the friggin money humanity has spent on war, war and more war we could have fed, clothe, housed and given vocational training to every man and woman and made sure not one child was truly "left behind".

But humanity either turns a blind eye in apathy or remains asleep.

One thing you need to know and must understand, they are not in a predicament to launch it now as they need to iimplement the depopulation campaign using WWIII to enact that policy as there are simply just way too many obstructions standing in their way. Every time they think they are close. As far as I know and can tell (this comes from someone whose been on the inside and undebelly of TPTB) and can assure you and every single person here that they ain't nowhere close to implementation. They've been waiting 800 years by all accounts to implement their agenda and we will make them wait another 8,000 if need be, The fatal flaw in their plan is they allowed the internet to exist. If they were true and hard pressed about it the internet would've never existed in the first place and will be their downfall.

Yeah this is one of the flaws I find with the PTB theory, the internet brings the regular populace together and grants them access to more information than ever possible before, which is obviously not good for keeping people "asleep". But, the PTB can makes truck loads of money from the internet, and it's a great way of keeping tabs on people. And they can censor the internet if it ever becomes too big of a problem for them. IF there is a PTB, they may feel the rewards of the internet for them outweigh the risks, considering most people don't use to internet to check up on the government etc.

This thread is completely credible and balanced because it doesn't contain any emotional bias attempting to confirm the authors personal beliefs.

This thread also has intelligent responses from posters seeking the truth and therefore not seeking to confirm their own beliefs but instead considering all sides of the story and challenging their own assumptions in order to reach an objective conclusion without being held back by confirmation bias.

I love how you insist that this is most definitely Obama's war and not Bush's because of this and that in your OP. A very good example of how us humans really like to be right and to get others agreeing with our perspective apposed to calmly challenging our own beliefs and seeking a healthy debate with people who may disagree with our assumptions and speculations.

I'm guessing that anyone who disagrees with you in this thread is marginalized and attacked.

Have fun kids.
