that's why it should be an 80s model diesel engine, 300 turbo merecedes preferably. no electronics
you can store 500 gallons of #1 diesel and it never goes bad

No to be a "post-apocalyptic smart azzz" but:

" Where you gonna drive to?"

Work? The Movies?The mall?

Fuel is more valuable in farm machinery..than your 300 "mercedes"Sedan.

Thanks for all the input from everyone. It has given me much to think about.

I agree that farm machinery and distribution companies would have the highest priority on a civilian level, along with police keeping the crowds/crime in control.

Thank you Kro for shedding new light on the middle east wars.

And yes, alot of people would be screwed. For many, no more going to work/having jobs, foreclosures/homelessness, looting and crime.

So many ramifications from not having fuel.

what happens when the fuel runs out?

1. start walking
2 find a horse
3 find a donkey
4. find a bike
5 find a motorcycle
6. have to foresight to have a few hundred gallons stockpile and treated with stabil or prig or prid(gas, deisel)
7. make your own.

the options are abound the choice is yours

movement in a gas shortage can be a bad thing alot of people will be out and they would be more than gladly shoot you for your ride and fuel.

dont go anywhere or have opsec and be armed if you just have to go someplace and beware soon as you park it someone will problem steal your ride after you left the scene.

lots of things to think about if there is no gas lots.

gasoline does have a shelflife few weeks to a few months
deisel aslo has a shelf life of a few months to a few years

with fuel treatment you increase that shelf life to years never forget treatment.
