I will admit you make a good point, there is no way to find the real truth, so why does people like moore claim he knows it.
Sadly there are always going tobe people who claim to know the "real" truth. That being their truth and to them it is quite "real" that is the
reason you have forums such as this, arguments on the streets, grand debates, wars, any and all disagreements.
The absolut truth usulay lays somewhere in the middle of all the "facts" you can find. Back to the 1066 example. The best way is to take into
consideration both sides of the text, compair it to the text that stays away from one side or the other search out the points that coinside and
support each other.
And then the hard part, look at the supported information that you have and think about it. What seems most logical even if it goes against your
deepest beliefs, and then you have to be willing to accept that your deepest beliefs may be based on flawed information which then forces you to
rethink and redevelop they core of what you believe.
Sadly very few people are willing to do this because they fear that it will infact force them to rethink the foundation of who they are. It is a scary
thing no doubt.
Think about how horrifying it was for people to finaly have to accept that that the earth actualy revovls arround the sun. All of the suddon the earth
was not the focal point of the universe, then they had to question why god would not make his creation the center, and then question their identity of
their god.
