Anti-war protester Brian Haw who camped in Parliament Square dies, aged 62

The anti-war protester Brian Haw has died after battling lung cancer, his family have announced.
Mr Haw, 62, died in his sleep while receiving treatment for the disease in Germany.
The veteran protester camped out in Parliament Square in London for 10 years.

The chain smoking, unemployed father of 7 children, who paid no taxes, and blighted Parliament Square with graphic images of dead children has passed on, in Germany following treatment that had been paid for by David Icke.

At the 2005 General Election, Mr Haw bid unsuccessfully to become MP for the Cities of London and Westminster. He said his was the most democratic campaign because anyone could speak to him at any time.

I like how they try to claim he was an anti war protestor, yet he was there campaigning against government policy long before 9/11 yet alone the wars. When it comes down to it he was nothing more than a serial protestor, who campaigned against just about everything, whilst scrounging off of the state...

This has made me very sad. Brian was one of the few people who dedicated his life to fighting TPTB and holding them accountable to their actions. A true soldier for freedom.

in my opinion we need more people like this guy he has stood up to goverments to the best of his ability and tried his best to be heard, i mean at least he stood for what he believed in an sacrificed many days of his life doing it, how many of us can say we do that? most people just sit in front of there tv sets and do nothing just let stuff go on...
