Chinese president calls for joint efforts to address world economic challenges

news.xinhuanet.com

The Chinese president said the world should first strengthen global economic governance and continue to advance the reform of the international financial system.

The international financial crisis not only dealt a heavy blow to the world economy and the economic development of all countries, but also highlighted the defects of the current international financial system and the deficiency of the global economic governance mechanism in dealing with crisis, he said.

I been saying for a while that the current financial crises around the world is what will be cited as justification to introduce and implement an overhaul of the current world economic system toward a new international economic order as it is commonly referred to, or a new world order. Some further comments follow. I also link to the relevant thread in the new world order subforum where there is a video of Hu delivering his speech with English interpreter.

Therefore, a new global economic governance mechanism should mirror changes in the world economic pattern, follow the principle of mutual respect and collective decision-making, and increase the representation and voice of emerging economies and developing countries, he said.

"We should support and promote a bigger role for the Group of 20 (G20) in global economic governance, and boost the overall recovery and growth of the world economy," he said.

"We should actively perfect global economic governance, promote the building of a fair, just, inclusive and orderly international monetary financial system, oppose all forms of protectionism and push the international economic order toward a more just and reasonable development," he said.

Second, the world should accelerate the transformation of the economic development pattern and reasonably adjust the economic structure, Hu said.

As I mention in the other thread, my guess is first we will see a collapse of the current system before any tangible, complete change from the current system to the new one takes place. It would have to be broke before it could be fixed as too many would feel they have too much to lose, given debts owed and investments and whatever else.

Now I admit I have absolutely no proof of anything I mention here, but I raise it as a possibility - one that seems is becoming increasingly plausible as we see the current system deteriorating into crisis with the growing debt problems and risks of contagion and so on.

Good thread. Anyone with years of research into this topic is already familiar with this capitalist world dictatorship run by the bank mafia and corporate oligarchy. Its no suprise they want to make things incredibly bad before they make it even worse with their mirage plan.

A world with rfid, a world of project echelon, a world of slave labor, a world of enviromental neglect, a world of corporate media brainwashing propaganda, a world of overconsumption for the wealthy, a world of shorter life spans, A WORLD OF MISERY!

It will not last friend. I see a revolution in the forseable future of biblical porportions...and not that I take religion seriously, but clearly most will not stand for such unbelievable depravity!

Just want to point out, in case it was not obvious, that russia and china are not only part of this conspiracy, but it will be led FROM THERE as they abandoned communism(good riddance I say) but replaced it with capitalist oppression.

I guess we can NEVER get socialism because its too good for us. It must ALWAYS be oppression!!!!!

The chineese economy was never strong to begin with. The bankers and multinational coporate oligarchy abandoned america(just like they abandoned europe for america after ww2) for asia; in particular india, taiwan, korea, china and malaysia.

I don't give a rats cahoot about the economy if people are under-payed and over-worked. What is infinetly more important for citizens is the quality of life! The way to accomplish this is to enforce protectionist policies the world over so that poor nations can develop their own economy and start exporting the surplus.

Now we see american and european firms rushing to asia to exploit the local slave force since the chineese and russian govervnments sold the populace into "the american dream" bs. How many chineese, indian, taiwaneese, malaysian, russian companies sell THEIR OWN merchandise to europe and north america? None, except knock-off stuff on the internet and everyone thinks the merchandise is inferior to the american "made in china" import brands.

This kind of globalism is one sided, financial imperialism!
