CIA NOT conducing operation in Pakistan: Malik

www.dawn.com

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik said Saturday that Pakistan is a sovereign state and the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is neither conducting any operation inside the country nor will it be allowed to do so.

Talking to media outside the parliament, he said the law enforcement agencies are conducting operation against illegal immigrants, adding, the people who are living in Pakistan despite their expiry of visa have also been deported.

Hmmm... I highly doubt it! The CIA is everywhere right, especially in the Middle east. Wasn't it CIA informants that monitored OBL location (www.telegraph.co.uk...)??! I'm sure the Interior Minister is saying this just to appease the local population but it does also appear to be another statement from Pakistan that they are sick and tired of the U.S. military industrial complex doing whatever they want on THEIR soil!

Hello WW3?

Thoughts?!

How quaint. The Pakistani's seem to actually believe they have any say or choice in the matter.

While it SHOULD be a sovereign nation and covert operations should not be run without the Pakistanis knowing, except in the most extreme (and later justifiable) circumstances, I think that is a long way from how the leadership of the U.S. Government views matter in the world right now. ...and the hits keep on coming.

ROFLMAO

How the heck can they say that?

So flying in an armed drone INto Pakistan from Afghanistan under CIA authority and command is not an operation IN Pakistan?

wow, just wow.

Yeah right.

The CIA, by congress own study, showed that the CIA did 100 000 SERIOUS crimes every year around the world.

Not to mention all the lies and terrorists they have supported over the years...

We should believe those guys? Yeah right, CIA... we totally believe you.

If they broadcast they are going left, expect them to go right.

Period.

CIA takes no orders from any nations, other than the USA... They go where they please, often you'll never know they are there.

There is absolutely no such thing as "sovereign territory" where US interests, national security objectives and any covert operations are.

Case closed, never happened.

abcnews.go.com...

Raymond Davis, a CIA contractor held in Pakistan after a deadly shooting incident in January, was freed today and is on his way home, U.S. and Pakistani officials said.

Davis was released from detention after $2.4 million was paid to the families of the two men allegedly shot and killed by Davis, according to court documents.

They can buy their way out of trouble, when necessary.

Yup, I was aware of that. Enlightening isn't it to see how much an asset such as Davis is worth to some people. Blood money indeed. Of course they aren't conducting ops in Pakistan. It's good that this guy and his dept. keep such close eyes on the CIA to know where there ops are and aren't happening.

Couple mill to the victims families, and billions to the Pakistani, ISI (unconfirmed of course)

Seems that CIA operatives (contractors) are very valuable.... Enlightening indeed.

In the end, the current Pakistani regime are a nuclear power, Islamic nation and haven for radical terrorists... For a price they will do anything we ask of them... The downside, they absolutely HATE the USA, CIA and will eventually stab us in the back, in a major way... and there isn't going to be much that we can do in retaliation for it... WHEN it happens.

Our involvement in that region is very costly, on many levels.

Sure they do, the super secret side on the other hand, takes no orders from anyone, at least not officially. They don't exist, never have and never will.

How deep did you want to go?
