Memory On - Off switch developed by US Scientists

Wouldn't this be MKULTRA in a sense? though i myself would find it highly useful to turn my memory on or off.
guess we'll have to wait and see what it'll be used for eh?

Wasn't there a movie about something like this with Arnie? Anyway, let's say you are a dissident. They "turn off" your memory and say "we did it because you suffered from ptsd, this is who you are and where you live(now)." One way to get rid of us with out killing us all.

Maybe you are referring to "Total Recall"?

Again, I believe 'they'' have more knowledge about us /our brains than they will acknowledge. I believe it possible there are many more manipulations that could be done to us. Turning one's memory off is but one way.

This may be an interesting concept but it's very bad intentionally i feel....

Something like this could really mess up a persons mind although there are some things that people may want to forget but what if the wrong Memory gets erased or the wrong thought??? We could become even more like zombies!! No thought.... no Brain!!

i cant help but feel turned on by this, i think i need to go take a memory dump

I have a problem with this type of breakthrough.
Our collective memories is what gives us our
life experiences. This is what we learn from
and how we develop and grow. Taking it all
away would literally turn that person into
a child with no life experiences to guide
rational thought. The ultimate dumb-down.

based around this concept with
Ben Afleck and Uma Thurman entitled:

"Paycheck"

very good movie for those interested.
It also showed how this tech could be
abused by criminals.

What if the memory could infact be stored, say like a chip / hardrive and then with a switch be re activated?

The collective remains, it is just manipulated, for whatever reason or outcome that is desired.

You just reminded me of a Film i saw last year entitled 'Cold Souls' .... very good Film, you should catch it if you havn't already seen it.... it's about Memory Switching from one person to another or just dumping your Memory and starting again from scratch....
