And as far as illegals sneaking in the U.S. and then asking for rights ...what does that tell my kids? "Hey kids, apparently not following the rules is ok".

Some jobs require learning a second language, some require a Bachelors Degree, some require special skills and talents. It's perfectly all right with me that different jobs require different skills.

With all the cultures and languages spoken, and all our immigrants that have come here to live has learned english, now they have to learn yet another language? That isn't fair or right to a heck of a lot of people.

Still going on about slaps in the face and spanish forced down throat when in another thread you made it quite clear that in the workplace you mention alot it was group of people who spoke english and chose to speak spanish that made you feel uncomfortable. Sounded like a personal issue then and it still does.
In many cases Press 1 for English and 2 for Spanish is because companies have expanded into Latin America and have to have a way to communicate with spanish speaking clients in spanish speaking countries. In some cases it's just covering bases.

No matter how much someone wants to limit, eliminate or completely ban the use of another language in the US, they will have a long complex battle in front of them. It would be virtually impossible to enforce large scale regulations on what language people prefer to communicate in. Even if there were Government language controls and restrictions.
Either way, I think English is always going to be the primary and official language of the US.

I live in central america we get your products with english, spanish and french labels. Should I be complaining that foreign words have been printed on my labels?
This is a direct result of NAFTA. Yes, they want spanish speakers in the US buying their wares but it also makes it real easy for them to sell all over latin america.
What the hell does getting a spanish speaking phone operator have to do with Press 1 for English. If anything it shows that the automated phone systems are a good idea. You would have pressed 1 and the system would have known connect you to an english speaking operator.
I have also had to call tech support in the past and guess what I have been routed to tech support all over the globe. Indian accents, Salvadorean, Mexican, good old american southern drawls and Spanish from spain. Also just because you call a business in the US doen't mean their support center isn't in some foreign country.

So what! I can go to Tunisia and find products printed in Danish. Does that mean that Tunisia has to have Danish as a language taught in school or as a primary language beside French and Arabic/Berber?

And yes, more and more companies are going global and replacing US tech workers with those in India because it's cheaper labor.
