Getting ready to sell your house? Good. You expect to make a modest profit because you've kept it in tip top shape and faithfully paid the mortgage each month...

And Obamacare? So What? Health care has nothing to do with real estate, right?

Well, get ready to be surprised. Barry O has decided to slap a 3.8% "Change You Can Believe In" surtax on the obscene capitalistic profits that you might realize. He needs it to "redistribute" it to whomever he decides is more worthy of your money than you are.

Read on...

Beginning January 1, 2013, ObamaCare imposes a 3.8% Medicare tax on unearned income, including the sale of single family homes, townhouses, co-ops, condominiums, and even rental income.

LOL. You gotta love the socialists. They never miss a trick for stealing other people's money so that they can waste it down some redistributionist rabbit hole. When can we get rid of this crook from cook(county)? Do we really have to endure another 18 months?

Sounds like a plan.
With the increase in home foreclosure and assumption of property by the banks and lien holders, most if not all of the tangible assets will be in their hands, thus when finally sold to 'whomever' outside of amerika that can afford to buy property here in the land of the free, they, the banks and lien holders, will have to pay the tax.
The country was turned into a commune and holding area without so much as a foot stomp or a wimper.

H. R. 4872—33
‘‘CHAPTER 2A—UNEARNED INCOME MEDICARE
CONTRIBUTION
‘‘Sec. 1411. Imposition of tax.
‘‘SEC. 1411. IMPOSITION OF TAX.
‘‘(a) IN GENERAL.—Except as provided in subsection (e)—
‘‘(1) APPLICATION TO INDIVIDUALS.—In the case of an individual,
there is hereby imposed (in addition to any other tax
imposed by this subtitle) for each taxable year a tax equal
to 3.8 percent of the lesser of—
‘‘(A) net investment income for such taxable year, or
‘‘(B) the excess (if any) of—
‘‘(i) the modified adjusted gross income for such
taxable year, over
‘‘(ii) the threshold amount.
‘‘(2) APPLICATION TO ESTATES AND TRUSTS.—In the case
of an estate or trust, there is hereby imposed (in addition
to any other tax imposed by this subtitle) for each taxable
year a tax of 3.8 percent of the lesser of—
‘‘(A) the undistributed net investment income for such
taxable year, or
‘‘(B) the excess (if any) of—
‘‘(i) the adjusted gross income (as defined in section
67(e)) for such taxable year, over
‘‘(ii) the dollar amount at which the highest tax
bracket in section 1(e) begins for such taxable year.
‘‘(b) THRESHOLD AMOUNT.—For purposes of this chapter, the
term ‘threshold amount’ means—
‘‘(1) in the case of a taxpayer making a joint return under
section 6013 or a surviving spouse (as defined in section 2(a)),
$250,000,
‘‘(2) in the case of a married taxpayer (as defined in section
7703) filing a separate return, 1⁄2 of the dollar amount determined
under paragraph (1), and
‘‘(3) in any other case, $200,000.

You can read the entire section beginning on page 33 of the bill.
This is page 33.

It's never YOUR money to begin with, your borrow that money from the state in order to trade it for goods. They own the money which you owe interest on, which means, they can collect all of the money you think you own. You want proof? Go burn money in front of a cop and trust me, it won't be long until they arrest you.

It's an illusion to keep people like you who use words which represents concepts you don't understand such as "socialism", content with what they think they have without asking any further question and defending a government which they are gullible enough to believe are their to represent them.

You're a slave, nothing more... at least 'socialists' want the best for YOU and not just the Elite and trust me, you're not the Elite; if you were, you wouldn't be chatting on here.

Nuclear Leaks and Response Tested Obama in Senate
By MIKE McINTIRE

Why have alarms not been sounded about radiation exposure in the US?
Blame the US?

In reaction to the Fukushima catastrophe, Germany is phasing out all of its nuclear reactors over the next decade. In a referendum vote this Monday, 95 per cent of Italians voted in favour of blocking a nuclear power revival in their country. A recent newspaper poll in Japan shows nearly three-quarters of respondents favour a phase-out of nuclear power in Japan. Nuclear operator Exelon Corporation has been among Barack Obama's biggest campaign donors, and is one of the largest employers in Illinois where Obama was senator. Exelon has donated more than $269,000 to his political campaigns, thus far. Obama also appointed Exelon CEO John Rowe to his Blue Ribbon Commission on America's Nuclear Future

You're simply reaching for a "justification"; right("cocasinpry")? You don't actually believe that do you? Do you live here? In this country we own the fruits of our labors whether we own the paper bill or not we do own the value it represents.Otherwise (no income) we are not obligated to pay a single tax.

I understand"socialism" just fine thank you;and have traveled and seen firsthand the results of "communism".

"Socialists want the best for me"? Now you're fooling yourself. People in authority want power over others. Especially when they believe they "know what you need better than you do."

To the OP, good post. I'll be selling my house next year (hopefully) so maybe I can dodge it. Thanks for the info.

Seriously... Let's just get rid of the need for money - and then there will be no profit in war (so war will vanish), no profit in sickening Us so We can have cures instead of "medicine," no profit in other drugs so We won't be waging war against some who use some drugs, and everyone will have the choice to live as today's elite do.

And insurance will be unnecessary.

How, You might ask... Please visit a couple of My threads, and perhaps read My novella (it's a free PDF) for an idea:

Yes, We are considered slaves. But I'm not so sure "socialists" want the best for Me. For Themselves, yes. Me? I may or may not make out with any plan, but it is not ME They care about.

And... I can imagine an elite "getting a chuckle" by trolling sites like ATS. Once in a while, if They are bored.

Seems to me this will mostly effect the speculators. People who buy houses and try ti flip them six months later. Myself ive only ever owned one house and have no intention of ever selling it. Who knows if this drives speculators from the markets home prices could drop to an affordable level agian.

These moves, these agendas, far exceed socialism in my opinion.
There's always a disclaimer hidden in the wording that holds harmless those authors intent on causing harm, a good solid routing and pyre are in order.

WRONG. It is not false. There are certain thresholds to reach, but Snopes conveniently omits them. And it's another lie from Obama..he said if you make less than X not a single penny of tax increase will you see. And it's just one of many such 'surprises' hidden in Obamacare.

And Snopes is 100% wrong on at least one issue: the thresholds they cite as $500,000 for joint returns and $250,000 on individual returns. The true figures are $250,000 joint and $125,000 on individual returns.

liberalism, socialism, communism all shades of the same animal you trying to make it and the government with its foot on your kneck ready to snap it.

case in point the op just likes obamas "childrens program" he decides to raise the taxes on millions americans who smoke that blood money to pay for kids.

and here we have obama care to save the people they are going to steal your lifes work and achievement all in the name of healthcare from your home.

cash is evil rich are evil but if it wasnt for the rich or people with money obama and the left cant do all their "good heartnedness".

never made much sense to me to screw people over to save them.

i guess thats the reason i never joined up with the donkeys.

No, it IS false. Do you understand how capital gains taxes work? Secondly, there already existed several substantial loopholes for this kind of thing in the tax code anyway, so only a very small percentage of people would have to pay this tax in the first place, and only people that are making huge gains on home sales. That's not too many people these days. Yes, the thresholds were lowered, but that's not the point of this thread.....the OP stated that there was a straight-up 3.8% tax on home sales. There isn't. It's a right-wing fallacy. Move on. You're wrong.

You need to post some unbiased, credible links before you continue this.
