Mysterious Beast killed by Teenagers in Panama

Source According to reports from a Panamanian news company, a group of teenagers in the small town of Cerro Azul have killed a mysterious beast that crawled out of the lake as they played at the waterfront on Saturday.

Reports state that the beast, described by local as ‘Gollum’ emerged from the lake and headed towards the teenagers “as if to attack them”. The four teenagers aged between 14 and 16 threw rocks at the beast to kill it before running away. They later returned to take pictures of it, which they passed onto Panama’s Telemetro television station.

Don't really know what to make of this story or its source but by the looks of it this actually happened.

Maybe a mutated species we are already aware of?

I think the general consensus was that it was some sort of Sloth.

Definitely a mammal by the looks of it. If it was fake you'd think they would make it more.. I dunno.. Alien-y? Big Foot-y?

It's old news, and it's a hairless sloth. On its right hand, you can see the uniquely-slothy claw.
I can understand them being scared of something like this, which should typically have hair, but, really, it's a sloth...how fast could it possibly have been coming after them?

It would be nice if there were some variation in the pictures. The lower body perhaps, or the hands/flippers. That stuff usually helps in identifying what it is. For all I know this thing had a lower body like a fish, torso and hand of a human, and the head of what almost looks like ET.

Interesting nonetheless. I just hope there is more information, and pictures, to come.

Considering it was killed by stoning, it does't look like it has any visible injuries - so I am gonna say it is faked.

Yes definately old news. I have held a sloth in Cartgena, and saw tons of them in Panema. And yes that is what it is.

It looks like a hairless, albino, Avatar to me...

I shall think it is not a sloth it looks nothing like one. And it being in the lake a sloth does not live in water they love hanging on trees and are not violent in no way they are one of the gentlest animals in this world.

Now it is either fake or information is being held back from us even if this is 2 years old news it is still interesting but it is sad that things of this such is always thought to be fake and like I said it very well could be but thanks to all of the fraud people posting things just to get known or money is very sad. This could be some thing real. For teens to stone it to death was very sad if it is true. If it were a sloth it could not have hurt them very badly and for it to be killed by stoning it to death some thing smells fishy there. Considering it has no marks on it and so fourth.

It being linked to the Montauk Monster is yet another stupid idea I mean take a look at this Montauk Monster thing it looks nothing like the picture of the what was said to have been killed

Really? I didn't realize having hair makes your neck so much shorter and thicker...

Wish the claws were in the picture to see if it was really
a hairless sloth.

Several days later uh like how long are we talking about here because this picture looks nothing of the sort like the thing in the other picture. It also looks like it is like a few months decade not a few days.

This thing looks like nothing like a sloth I have not a clue why people are saying it looks like a sloth when it does not its neck is to thick and to long there are no claws on this other thing like the picture you have posted.
