Statement by Governor Jan Brewer

Federal Operation Fast and Furious placed Arizonans at risk
“I am outraged by findings in a new Congressional report that alleges federal agents were instructed to stand aside and do nothing as up to 2,000 weapons were illegally purchased in Arizona and resold. In many cases, the end result appears to have been the arming of violent drug cartels south of the border.

“During Operation Fast and Furious in 2010, according to this report, agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms were ordered to simply track these „straw buyer‟ weapons sales but not intervene. Longtime federal agents have now testified before Congress that allowing these weapons to leave the premises, a practice generally known as „gun walking,‟ was a marked departure from accepted law enforcement practices.

“ATF agents lost track of many of these weapons, including assault weapons and .50 caliber sniper rifles. A significant number undoubtedly found their way to Mexican drug cartels. Tragically, two AK-47s traced back to Operation Fast and Furious later turned up at the crime scene near Rio Rico, Arizona, where Arizona Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was murdered by bandits. Authorities are still looking for the murder weapon.
“If the allegations contained in this Congressional report are accurate, then Operation Fast and Furious endangered the lives of innocent people on both sides of the border.

The people of Arizona deserve answers from the Department of Justice and ATF as to how this could have been sanctioned, let alone encouraged. We may never know how many weapons illegally sold as part of this operation later turned up at a crime scene. But the connection between this failed federal operation and the death of Border Patrol Agent Terry is clear. The Congressional report puts it best: „The death of Border Agent Brian Terry was likely a preventable tragedy.‟”

there you have it... not just AZ but all Americans are outraged... Well Obama what you gonna do about it??? we Americans want answers...

I thought folks would have caught on by now.
CIA. CIA. CIA. CIA.

Remember, one border agent died
from these weapons.

It's really bad when your own Gov sting
nets criminals who are active duty
Gov officials. Can you say cover-up ???
Iran-Contra sound familiar ???

DEA has been bought off for CIA drug-running.
ATF has been bought off for CIA gun-running.

It's happened before and will continue to
happen as long as there is a CIA.

Deal with it or change it on your own,
the corrupt Gov ain't gonna do chit about it.

Which is where the Governor's speech comes
into play.

Gee does anyone else think this sounds like another set-up to give the scum in D.C. an excuse to crack down on the 2nd Amendment? Example BS: "these guns that are killing little old ladies and nuns in Texas, and that are being used by DRUG BOOGEYMEN, were bought in Arizona! We need to stop sale on everything but sling shots! And you must have a valid excuse to own those sling shots like anti terrorist bird, control (joke..I hope)..

Create a problem, wait for a reaction, then offer your solution...

ETA: Lets not forget also, that none of these drug cartels would exist if not for the war on drugs. Drug problems and drug use prevention are a job to be handled through health care and education. Not a military operation and oppressive laws...

Not surprising. The administration has been aiding the cartel/government in Mexico for decades and we have just taken that support up a notch. It matters not what the government of Mexico does, insult the American people in the rose garden, complain about the soverign actions of state governments, it does not matter. The cash and guns still flow across the border. Why? Because the Cartels = Government in Mexico and always have.

Mexico is a failed state. It is a narco state every bit as corrupt as was Columbia in the 80s. There are three differences. Oil, big business's desire for cheap labor and the Latino vote.

The entire USA/Mexico relationship is and has been laden with corruption for a very long time.

Not so much wait for a reaction as LEAD the reaction...

MANY stars for this if I could!
