Amnesia ( A Poem )

Like the fluttering moths wings
Beating at the edge of my mind.
The fragile chains of my illusion
To despair do they cling , and bind.

A lost memory is floating
In the murky depths of my soul.
On the rippling tide of my uncertainty
They ebb further into the shadows
Where I am afraid to go.

Grasping at the gossamer threads that hold me
Caught in a web of deception, and shame.
Trapped like the elusive moth, I struggle to be free
Of this gilded cage, for I can not remember who to blame.

Can someone please release me?
Remind me of who I am.
