Believe me, if this was a rant the mods would have moves it rather quickly.

Believe me-you are so wrong about that.............

This IS a rant- because people on this site-GASP- actually are expressing feelings and viewpoints that don't fit into how you think " the world should be"....
Please get off your high horse with talking about "agendas" when you are doing EXACTLY that.....

(Also-what is this "manta" thing you keep referring to- you've done it at least twice- are you talking about "manta-rays"??

In light of the current atmosphere on ATS, I thought I would bump this thread. It seems to be coming more and more relevant as time passes.

Thank you Misoir, you are the voice of reason in this thread. I am conservative, yet I have been against the Patriot Act since it was instituted. I totally believe it is part of the attempt to Orwellianize our country in preparation for the NWO.
I just cannot get on board with people who want to fundamentally transform our Republic into a direct democracy socialist State.

I agree. The only chance we have is to maintain our Republic in its true, unadulterated form. I believe we will return to that someday.

Actually, as a conservative I feel just the opposite shift in ATS over the course of the past several months. ATS seems like a new home for wayward Occupiers looking for meaning and purpose as they echo the daily talking points.

Much different now than when I joined 3 years ago and I would expect another shift as the 2012 election begins to heat up.

I'll still be here though...

to promote liberal democracy in other countries.

The key here is "liberal democracy in other countries". Some current WH occupants are working very hard at it, but doing it under cover of groups like Anon, ACORN, SEIU, and other unions and assorted nefarious organizations, mostly supported by George Soros.

Yes, there is a difference between defending the freedom of peoples worldwide, and promoting a socialist utopian world govt. The left and right merely differ in which type of NWO they want.

LOL...I felt the exact opposite shift before the 2008 elections...It's cyclical....whoever holds "the office" will be ganged up on....not the person, but the party...just wait and see....well, actually the person AND the party.

EDIT: becoming President is basically a "public opinion" death sentence....I would never want that job....and would almost never wish it upon my enemies...it takes serious egotistical fortitude to even contemplate accepting that role.

I never made that statement.... At all. I hope you will put it into its proper context.

That is simply Republican, not conservative, rhetoric and propaganda that I refuse to be a part of. It serves no purpose in maintaining a productive republic and only continues to divide people based on MSM (FoxNews) talking points.

I couldn't care less what political group has infiltrated ATS, OP, because I have the power. A power called Pick-n-Choose. I use this power to decide what thread I wish to explore, which posters I pay attention to, whether we be like-minded or not. Every member of ATS has their own reason for being here. Some inform, some troll, some deny, some inspire, some joke, some complain and some reveal. And they should all be welcome here, no one should be denied, just ignorance. If I had to guess, I'd guess you were, are, or are considering going into politics. Or a 13 year old who can't find a date on a Friday night, but I welcome your viewpoint anyway.

The problem is politics has no business being discussed on ATS. Do you people really come to ATS to discuss politics? Go to Cnn or Fox websites and play with all the sheep there. I come to ATS to get my world news, science news, and some good old fashioned doom and gloom. ATS has been so boring for the last month, everybody sounds like the loons on Cnn and Fox. Quit with the multiple political threads and bring on some doom and gloom, ufo's, and some great conspiracies. That's why we're here remember.

I have considered running for a local position in which I could keep my job and represent the people of my community, but I do not have the funds or the time to do so. Besides, I live on a side of town that is completely dominated by Democrats.....they wouldn't like me!

Or a 13 year old who can't find a date on a Friday night, but I welcome your viewpoint anyway.

My wife and two kids, one that is 12, would find that funny. But thanks for adding to the conversation anyway.

So....the plain is foiled! Must radio the mothership, right away...

Seriously, are opposing ideas THAT big of a threat? Where would anyone get the idea that one can't oppose certain things unless they are a liberal? Utter nonsense. Conservatives are SMALL government, less corruption. I think you are confused about what the right stands for.

Thank you Sheepslayer, for saying what I've been thinking of posting for over a year now.

Except you managed to do it without the spastic twitching and coprolalia that I was bound to end up using.

It's the unwillingness to discuss, paired with a seething, willing ignorance. I've lost count of the times that I've tried to debate an issue with someone on the "other side" only to get a "lolwhatever" and then they go on and continue to, well, lie.

Disagreeing is fine. Being passionate about one's beliefs is cool, too. "YOU DON'T AGREE WITH ME SO UR SOCIALIST LIKE HITLER AND U KISS MICHAEL MOORE'S ASS U OBAMABOT RACIST LOLOLOL U SUK HOPE U DIE!" is... something else entirely.

You guys keep alluding to this, are you trying to prove the OP right?

Don't you think that American Lefties could have turned this country into a Communist
State many times before communism virtually crumbled worldwide?

It is hard to take you seriously, or maybe you do it to give me a headache, IDFK???

You would think JFK would have let the Soviets win, instead of keep it going 50 years, don't you?

I think you live in fear my man,

I think the right is confused about what they stand for...

Big Business, isn't the cream of freedom, the right has been corrupted by
modern day prophets espousing economic ideas that create more billionaires
and more poverty. This unwavering support for big business creates LARGE
government, the toy that is not aimed at bettering civilian life either, the
type that is aimed at making rich people richer.

To anyone who cares

X - Y theory of management (real theory)

Conservatives practice X theory, everything is fear based and reward is based upon
punitive repercussion. Sounds like the invasion of the Neocons...

Everyone is lazy, everyone wants to be on welfare!

Lets read some underlined goodness, then it all makes sense. Need those wealthy people to
manage those greedy, lazy people, who don't want to work who live to leach off of Neo and co.

If they ain't working let em starve that'll teach em!

In this theory, which has been proven counter-effective in most modern practice, management assumes employees are inherently lazy and will avoid work if they can and that they inherently dislike work. As a result of this, management believes that workers need to be closely supervised and comprehensive systems of controls developed. A hierarchical structure is needed with narrow span of control at each and every level. According to this theory, employees will show little ambition without an enticing incentive program and will avoid responsibility whenever they can. According to Michael J. Papa, if the organizational goals are to be met, theory X managers rely heavily on threat and coercion to gain their employee's compliance. Beliefs of this theory lead to mistrust, highly restrictive supervision, and a punitive atmosphere. The Theory X manager tends to believe that everything must end in blaming someone. He or she thinks all prospective employees are only out for themselves. Usually these managers feel the sole purpose of the employee's interest in the job is money. They will blame the person first in most situations, without questioning whether it may be the system, policy, or lack of training that deserves the blame. A Theory X manager believes that his or her employees do not really want to work, that they would rather avoid responsibility and that it is the manager's job to structure the work and energize the employee. One major flaw of this management style is it is much more likely to cause Diseconomies of Scale in large businesses.

I think nearly all the politicians are corrupt there is no left or right. You have one or two decent ones like RP, but many are happy to allow people to rape you for money (TSA) thats how bad things are in the USA.

Patriot act: Democrat liberals haven't even attempted to kill it and in fact have resoundingly supported it.

Gay marriage: Marriage should be a states issue. Straight marriage isn't covered in the Constitution, why should gay marriage?

Healthcare reform: Reform is different than universal healthcare. Both sides of the aisle are working toward the former. Neither should be working toward the latter.

Tax policies: Three...no four...different Republican candidates have put forth simpler tax code changes that will help American economy get back on its feet, not to mention lower the tax burden on our citizens. With the Democrats it's "let's tax everyone more!" I've seen no reform suggestions come from the left side of the aisle.

Government agencies: More government agencies is bad. The government can't even fix our roads, or keep the elderly in Depends. The only thing the government is good at creating is taxes and deaths.

...yet they send our family members over to foreign nations to kill masses of people in the name of "democracy" and send our loved ones to die themselves...

Our Republican NeoCon president should be ashamed of himself for the continued murders of the citizens of sovereign nations! He is the CIC, the person that directs troops and sends the orders of whom to kill! He should be brought up on charges!

Wait, what? Our president is a liberal Democrat?

nm

BTW: I'm a Libertarian.
