HA! I got a good chuckle out of that one.

@OP: At first it looked like a few search lights (spot lights?) following each other, but I will have to check the video out in more detail when I get access to my other computer.

This phenomena is called twizzler cloud. Search it up if you wish.

I've actually seen a couple of these, but they weren't as defined as this one and I didn't have the ability to video them at the time. Thanks for posting! This is awesome!

Wonderful video! I've seen one of these cloud phenomenons a few years back..Its mother nature at its best but i have to say its a bit scary to see..thanks for awesome thread

Old thoughts: Could it be that the earth is just the bottom of the sky waves? Wonder who is surfing the clouds? "High-five" or is that "hang-ten"!

This video was taken in Southwestern Ontario on the Bruce Peninsula between Lake Huron and Georgian Bay.... I know this becasue I was at the beach that day and saw it. I forget where exactly the video was taken from but what I said above is the general area. Was definitely something cool to see though

Its called a roll cloud.

Its caused by rapidly rising warm air rising through the middle of the cloud, and as it rises it cools, meaning it falls off the back and front of the cloud creating a rolling effect. In areas where these clouds are regular occurences (eg- Normanton, Queensland) they are quite popular for hang gliders due to the movement of the air
