he just flips two cards, makes it look like one, so when he puts the other one under, its your card that comes up on top

It is simple.

The card on the top of the deck while you write on your chosen card is a the same on both sides, it has the pattern for the back of the beck on both sides.

Trick 1)

Puts your card face down under the top card, ten turnes over 2 cards to show that yours is on top. Because the card that was on top is a "double back" card you don't see this once your card is taken off the top.

Trick 2)

You put your card face up on top of the pile. He turns over 2 cards, but you obly see on move. Now your card is 2nd from the top but you you think it is on top. He takes "your card" off the top and puts it to "2nd in the deck" moving your card to to the top.

Simple.

So you do need a special card otherwise otherwise after trick 1 you would see the card under yours is upside down.

I looked it up, and i see now, none of you guy's who tell how it works, but do not explain, even if you do, you did not understand the trick... Its amazing, how he does it.... None of you got it right!, no double card, no quick change... Really amazing trick!
