I know right? The last time they told us they had something big to announce, they hmmmm'ed and hawwww'd over it for over an hour and a half (which tells the conspiracy theorist in me that they changed what they were really going to announce). I wish they would just spit it out already. If we're gonna get wiped out in a collision with another planet, major solar flare, or a goat farting on the other side of the planet that knocks us out of orbit tell us! Course me thinks it's another bait and switch...nothing to see folks, it's not as bad as we originally thought, everything is going to be ok, just believe in your leaders, they have nothing but your best interest at heart . This has definitely aroused my curiousity can't wait till 1.

Yes, but it's not from NASA, it's from the American Astronomical Society.

The sources are credible enough.
There's still 40 minutes left, anyhow. It hasn't started yet.

ETA: And, even then, it'll probably be significantly delayed, like most "major" announcements.

Yes, it has started. I am in EST. It's scheduled at 1700gmt, which is 12pm EST is it not? And just because space.com is cited doesn't make it credible.
