She hears "God" talking to her, calling her to run. That is terrifying to me. What else might "God" say to her?

I agree. She scares the hell out of me. But there are a LOT of people that love her.

U.S. Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann (R-Minnesota) just announced that she is running for president. She announced this during this evening's (June 13) Republican debate on CNN, at about 8:15 p.m eastern time U.S.

A good thing? For some, sure. She brings up and comments on things that some people find usefull and important. And for comedians, sure, she's funny as hell with her wackier ideas. And for MSNBC, gold in them thar hills!

I see a Palin / Bachmann ticket going all the way to the White House.

I saw Michelle Bachmann on Fox News Sunday. Chris Wallace unfairly called her a flake.

I agree. It's guaranteed winner. I hope taxes the oil companies like she did in Alaska. I could use the money. Would be nice to get money from the oil companies instead of giving them all my money. They have lots of money. It helps me understand why the media dislikes Sarah Palin. They do not like her socialist ways.

Aside from the point that this would be a losing ticket of epic proportion, these two women would devour eachother.

Actually I see them headed for a collision no mattter how this turns out.

The proof is in the numbers. Look at where she's polling....even after her Iowa 'gaffe,' she's right there with Mitt.

Which makes her 3rd in popularity behind Mitt and Any generic Republican. Forgive me for not seeing much value in being 3rd to NOBODY. Not very impressive.

Like i said, her base doesn't care if she's not being truthful. She's saying all the correct anti-Obama, anti-left, anti-government things they want to hear. Fox will fall in line if and when she pulls ahead of Mitt.

Her base? She can have her entire base vote twice and she will still lose to Obama. Fox got in line behind McCain/Palin right from the get go and how did that work out? I am not sure what numbers you are looking at but Michelle is not exactly a threat and the more she talks, the more she is going to scare independents. The GOP nominee does not need their base, they already have them. Obama does not need his base, he already has them. The winner needs to sway the rest. Bachmann is super popular among the few people that already like Bachmann. Good for her.

The last president who was president because God told him to be, also went to war because God told him to go to war. So that worked out great. We won, right?

If she take Palin that would be either an epic success or epic failure, I don't see any middle ground there. I'm actually thinking she is a good thing for the republicans as they seemed like they were half asleep with the candidates their putting out.

I think Bachmann would be wise to take say Mike Huckabee or someone along those lines as her vp. Maybe even Christie would be a good choice. Somebody with a little more spark than any of the guys running on the ticket now.

Thought that was 2010? Did you guys finally take a look at how few TEA party candidates actually won or did you finally look at how those candidates are wasting money in Washington after being sent there to clean up spending? Go ahead, TEA party. Give that a second shot them. You deserve a mulligan I guess.

I saw Michelle Bachmann on Fox News Sunday. Chris Wallace unfairly called her a flake.

That is the problem with most of you. You only know how to be defensive, or attacking. GOP mouthpiece, Chris Wallace, asked her if she was a flake because that is how so many in the media paint her. He never called her a flake. Keep using that tactic. I believe that is how McCain did so well.

Palin/Bachmann on the same ticket? Maybe if Palin actually runs for something and stops picking on Bachmann herself. Call us when that happens.

Well to be fair, Palin hasn't jumped in the ring yet but if she does I believe you will see her become more focused. There is still alot of time before the election and nobody has really gotten to the heart of issues yet.

More focused than what? She has quit being gov. and falied to win the VP nomination. 2012 has been on the calendar for a while now so if she is not focused yet, when will she be? Michelle Bachmann knows Palin is not going to run. Why don't her supporters?

Michelle Bachmann's new top consultant, Ed Rollins, began his tenure with scathing criticism of potential Bachmann rival Sarah Palin.
"Sarah has not been serious over the last couple of years," Rollins told Brian Kilmeade on his radio show, Kilmeade and friends. "She got the Vice Presidential thing handed to her, she didn't go to work in the sense of trying to gain more substance, she gave up her governorship."

He suggested that the contrast would favor Bachmann.

"Michele Bachmann and others [have] worked hard, she has been a leader of the Tea Party which is a very important element here, she has been an attorney, she has done important things with family values."

That should be a winning ticket!

No presidential candidate has announced their Vp's yet. If Palin were to become Bachmann's Vp why would you expect her out campaigning already.

And not winning with Mccain proves what? They simply lost.

As for leaving her post as Governer she sort of had no choice. She was being sued left and right, and you may say that's good or bad, but she was ultimately going to go bankrupt from the court costs if she stayed and defended herself.

Perhaps she didn't want to put her family through that as well as all the money she made after she left. The point is that just because you have no like for her doesn't make her a viable candidate in the least.

Also do not forget the back and forths that Biden and Obama had when they were both Presidential candidates. How quickly that became water under the bridge after Biden was selected Vp.

So instead of getting serious, Palin is again just sitting around waiting for someone to pick her as VP candidate? That is encouraging how again? Why are you guys obsessed with these two running together again? Have either hinted at it or is just that they both have lady parts and that is confusing?

And not winning with Mccain proves what? They simply lost.

Kinda proves just that, don't it?

As for leaving her post as Governer she sort of had no choice. She was being sued left and right, and you may say that's good or bad, but she was ultimately going to go bankrupt from the court costs if she stayed and defended herself.

Save your excuses. She is not the only politician to face lawsuits. I have yet to see Obama step down over being sued left and right for his birth certificate. Have you? How many other politicians do you see quitting because they got sued too much? I am not getting sued a lot. I wonder what I am doing differently. Well, me and every other governor on the planet it seems.

She quit. When someone quits on me, their excuses as to why follow them out the door. Especially if they beg me for support and money before being appointed.

Perhaps she didn't want to put her family through that as well as all the money she made after she left. The point is that just because you have no like for her doesn't make her a viable candidate in the least.

But now she wants her family to go through something far worse? Explain that in a way that makes sense.

Um...did you just admit she quit to go make herself rich? I will remember that for her bumper stickers.

Also do not forget the back and forths that Biden and Obama had when they were both Presidential candidates. How quickly that became water under the bridge after Biden was selected Vp.

Right, but they were both actually running for the same office. Palin is running for most popular girl on a bus tour. Michelle Bachmann is actually running for president.

I seriously need to know why out of all the potentials in the GOP, some of you are stuck on the idea that these two women must be running together.

I never said I want these two to run together only that it would be interesting and it would be. I also don't know if they are even talking about it but I know of know other talks among democratic vp's either. Why you would expect her to be out campaigning already when she isn't in the race I don't understand.

As for her leaving the governorship didn't Obama also leave office to run for President? Reasons may have been different but the outcome was still the same. Can't call one situation bad and the other good.

This thread is not even about Palin yet it sure seems to be worried about her. If you do not even know if they are talking, then why is this the pairing in your head? Why do you think Bachmann would pick Palin and Palin would except? Other than them both being women, I am lost. Palin is not in the race yet because she does not plan on getting in the race. If she is sitting around waiting to be picked prom queen again, then she is dooming that ticket by proving that she has no idea how to prepare with her free time. She has been through all that once already. You think she would know better this time.

Last time she could say she had been governor. Now she is just a chick with a book to sell and a bus.

You did not use the reason that she was running for another office to explain why she quit. You went with a completely different excuse because that excuse is the one Palin gave you to use and it fails. Obama did not leave office because he could not handle all the lawsuits.

Do you know who the subject of this thread is about because you seem to have left Bachmann a few posts back.

I did not bring up the Palin, Bachmann ticket, I was responding to a post by another member. You are the one who took it and ran with it. And yes I can see why she would leave office if it was going to cost her in terms of money, court preceedings, and be a distraction from her duties as Govenor.

To say she should be faulted for that decision is nonsense. And the point about Obama leaving is still valid also. They both ran out on their duties that the people elected them for and that doesn't change regardless of the reasons. Only in Palins case the replacement wasn't left up to a crooked governor selling the seat so she wins on this one.

Actually I kept trying to include Bachmann or at least remind you she existed when you only wanted to respond about Palin. Do not blame me for that.

And yes I can see why she would leave office if it was going to cost her in terms of money, court preceedings, and be a distraction from her duties as Govenor.

Sure you can. I cannot. It is an excuse and a weak one. Is the the only governor to ever face lawsuits or just the only one to use that as an excuse to quit? Reminder: Bachmann.

To say she should be faulted for that decision is nonsense.

Uh...what?

To say she should be faulted for that decision is nonsense.

I need to read that again. I know she and her supporters are all about "personal responsibility."

To say she should be faulted for that decision is nonsense.

Wow. So anyone but Palin is to blame for the choices Palin made? No.

And the point about Obama leaving is still valid also.

No it is not. He got promoted, she just quit. Leaving a job is one thing. Quitting for a bigger job is quite different from quitting because it got too hard.

They both ran out on their duties that the people elected them for and that doesn't change regardless of the reasons.

Then you are going to have a tough time defending Bachmann when she leaves office to take up residency in the whitehouse aren't you? How do you not the know the difference between leaving one office to take a higher office and just quitting because it s so hard?

Only in Palins case the replacement wasn't left up to a crooked governor selling the seat so she wins on this one.

See how the only one mentioning Bachmann was again me? Notice that? Didya?
She wins this one?
Ok. She won by quitting. Gotcha!

Your funny. You bring up all these things about Palin and when I respond to each point you accuse me of not bringing up Bachmann. If you would like responses to Bachmann than please mention some of your viewpoints on her and not just Palin and you will get a sufficient retort.

And yes Bachmann is guilty of the same thing as Obama is. The people did not elect a person to Congress to serve part of the term than be stuck with anyone the governor chooses as a replacement. You did not see Bachmann or Obama mention that when they were running for Congress, "vote for me, of course I may only be here a short time", and I would be upset with any of my elected officials if they bailed out on their duties.

This does not mean the reasons are not always valid. Sure running for President is a valid reason but so are the ones that made Palin leave. If I had voted for her I would be upset although I could understand it. If staying in office meant not being able to perform duties as one should then yeah get out and make room for someone that could.

I actually can understand her reasons more than I can Obama's or Bachmann's which is more selfish in my opinion as they just want something better and forget about the people that got em there in the first place.
