Obama's going to cut government waste? Excellent, let them all resign They're the biggest waste ever. They aren't needed, the country, nay the world, would be better off without them.

i am in favor of cutting 50% of government

and that includes amtrak, and the tsa and the myriad of intelligence agencies that all do the same thing.

elimination of the redundant jobs will cut waste but considering we are talking about government that wont happen.

it think its high time that the government gets those thing that everyone loves to hate the bean counters who go around and fire and cut.

any normal business hires bean counters and the fire and restructure and they lay off and shrink and lose the "money losers" of their business.

Ok, I am not thrilled with the Obama administration, but am quite sure one administration that's only been in office 2 1/2 years is capable of making the mess we're in, or repairingit that quickly. He did not caused our forclosure/mortgage fiasco which was a big part of the mess we're in here, nor did he start the huge spending spree in military. He has certainly continued it, but it was a huge debt machine long before 2 years ago.

those are just a few examples of the stupidity of the many over the years.

this countries problems were decades in the making and none will be fixed and none will ever be fixed.

spend the money you have on the things that are most needed and studying cow farts and monkeys on coc aine and the thousands of other stupid things they waste our money on.

Obama has more then enough time to make his mark. He has done nothing to help america. He goes around, makes teleprompter speeches and then flys to the next city. This guy has no concept of money, never held a real job and had to make payroll. He’s been a government creation since the begging being a community organizer and organizing camp fires or whatever the hell community organizers do. Has never ever held a real job!

Yes he was a senator, but never voted for anything and if he did he voted “present” God he is so arrogant. I’m tired of this guy

The OP cited nothing that would have directly affected the elderly, unless studying ants is a program that does that??? All the things he cited were unnecessary pork. Obama hisself said he wanted to cut MEDICARE to pay for his Socialist healthcare. Who would have thought he'd cut one Socialist program to pay for a different one. The elderly would be better able to take care of themselves by now anyways, if inflation hadn't ravaged us, raising costs faster than wages would have covered. What the seniors put in the SS system through wages 20 years ago is not enough to pay for the hyperinflated prices of today. That's part of the dirty little trick of the Fed Reserve.

Oh give me a break. If we returned to normal tax rates instead of paying fealty to massive corporations and actually taxed them on the massive profits they are making our entire social safety net would be completely secure.

The rich aren't hurting right now. They have amassed more wealth than ever before and have continued to amass more and more while the people suffer. There is absolutely no need to cut benefits to the weakest members of society when the richest, greediest, and most (unfairly) powerful among us continues to receive lopsided benefits because they control the media and the political process.

It's clearly a campaign ploy. Whoever doesn't already know what a fraud he is, they may still believe him yet. Maybe Biden was getting bored, or they needed to keep him busy.

Also, it's the stuff we don't see I worry about. If they are politicising the study of ants, what are they doing that's not being talked about? Obama is not going to cut any waste that he doesn't want to cut. The Stimulus package spends money on upgrading networks to facilitate the healthcare program. Businesses can get money to upgrade for the purpose of maintaining electronic health record databases. That is, for monitoring patient health records. I truly think a lot of people don't realize the amount of bureaucracy going into this. It will be Orwellian in its scope.

You know the $1 trillion "Stimulus" package that came out? A report came out, and im going to have to find it, that a year after "CEO" bonuses in total were up $1 Trillion. hummmm makes you think. There all in it togeather.

See, you have played right into the hands of an administration which uses Marxist class warfare to accomplish its goals. What is wealthy? It is all relative. When it will cost a wheelbarrow full of cash to buy a loaf of bread, who is going to be wealthy?

Here is what the Stimulus package does

The Department of Health and Human Services has been given $19 billion in incentives to move the healthcare community toward full utilization of electronic health records. The goal for this stimulus funding is to help 90% of doctors and 70% of hospitals adopt EHR within 10 years.

In the early years, hospitals and physicians offices that are early adopters of the technology will receive annual bonuses through Medicaid. Beginning in 2015, providers who have not adopted the technology will see reduced Medicare payments. After 2015, the amount of reduced Medicare payments will increase annually. The same type of incentives will be available to Medicaid providers.

This segment of funding also includes $2 billion to create a medical record database for the entire country.

Funding will be determined by formula with each qualifying hospital getting a base amount of $2 million. Hospitals will have up to 4 years to become “meaningful” users of EHR.
