I was watching the movie "wanted" today and the NIN song "everyday is exactly the same" came on but i related to it in a totally different way this time after listening to it.

here are the lyrics Every Day Is Exactly The Same"

I believe I can see the future
Cause I repeat the same routine
I think I used to have a purpose
But then again
That might have been a dream
I think I used to have a voice
Now I never make a sound
I just do what I've been told
I really don't want them to come around

Oh, no

[Chorus:]
Every day is exactly the same
Every day is exactly the same
There is no love here and there is no pain
Every day is exactly the same

I can feel their eyes are watching
In case I lose myself again
Sometimes I think I'm happy here
Sometimes, yet I still pretend
I can't remember how this got started
But I can tell you exactly how it will end

[Chorus]

I'm writing on a little piece of paper
I'm hoping someday you might find
Well I'll hide it behind something
They won't look behind
I'm still inside here
A little bit comes bleeding through
I wish this could have been any other way
But I just don't know, I don't know what else I can do

[Chorus x2]

if any of you have read George Orwell's 1984 you might get what I'm talking about. Feel free to add your own conclusions about the lyrics and George Orwell's 1984. If you haven't read his book here a wiki link about it en.wikipedia.org... . I highly suggest you read this book if you have not heard of it. The conclusions i draw between the book and the song are interesting the same thing with the movie.

#1 in the book 1984 journals are outlawed as well as personal writing and the main character in the book is writing in a journal hoping for someone to find it in the future. song version I'm writing on a little piece of paper
I'm hoping someday you might find.

#2 In the book the main character starts to question how his government is brain washing everyone and is fearful of showing any signs of disliking them but at times it comes out and hes afraid they will spot it. song version I can feel their eyes are watching
In case I lose myself again

#3 In the book there are these agents called thought police that show up when anyone is thinking bad about the government or talking bad about the government and the person is killed and never heard of again. The song version is the very first part of the song the i believe i can see the future to i really don't want them to come around.

i could write a couple more but i will let other people fill in the blanks.
Now on to the "wanted" movie Synopsis if you haven't seen the movie www.imdb.com...

This is getting pretty long so i will just cut to the chase westley is us the people unaware of the power we/he holds. The assassins organization is the our governments the loom of fate is their purpose for existence. the second they start to ignore the loom of fate they turned evil. Interestingly they use the westley to kill his own father and his is trying to take down the organization because he knows about it

Just want to say, i love some of NIN's songs, especially "Right where it belongs" & "Hurt". Trents good at putting those deep thoughts into music and making the listener wonder when he wants to.

I can see what you're saying in the post too, good job at recognising the similarities

thanks Jamesprotype I was wondering if someone would get it. and yeah the song is awesome but to hide that type of message in the lyrics is amazing. I guess i would have got more responses if the tread was about chem trails and little green men or telling people i don't know i love them. Does anyone read anymore? Or is this so out of wack that im drawing conclusions to stuff that isn't there

I always way a giant fan of Trent Reznor/NIN, it would be too long to enumerate the songs I like.

But! If you like NIN, you probably will like this song

Here's another. I think this one is more about sheeple though, and how they willingly live as slaves to a draconian and totalitarian world power, and refuse to do anything about it, as they continue to listen to the lies the media feeds them.

Lyrics:

slave screams he thinks he knows what he wants
slave screams thinks he has something to say
slave screams he hears but doesn't want to listen
slave screams he's being beat into submission

don't open your eyes you wont like what you see
the devils of truth steal the souls of the free
don't open your eyes take it from me
i have found
you can find
happiness in slavery

slave screams he spends his life learning conformity
slave screams he claims he has his own identity
slave screams he's going to cause the system to fall
slave screams but he's glad to be chained to that wall

don't open your eyes you wont like what you see
the blind have been blessed with security
don't open your eyes take it from me
i have found
you can find
happiness in slavery

i don't know what i am i don't know where i've been
human junk just words and so much skin
stick my hands thru the cage of this endless routine
just some flesh caught in this big broken machine

Year Zero the entire CD could relate to this thread.
Seems like the entire CD is him singing from the Elites point of view.

Meet Your Master

Bow down in position
Against the polished steel
This is something different
You'll like the way this feels
No time for asking questions
No time for wondering
We've had enough of you now
You've heard everything

You want to play a new game
You put on this blindfold
You do what we tell you
You do as you're told
Used to be the leader
Now comes the time to serve
Maybe we'll show some mercy
Maybe you'll get what you deserve

Count down to the end
Gotta make it come faster, faster
Right around the bend
Is a coming disaster
Count down to the end
And we're headed their faster
Come on down my friend
It's time to meet your master

You've left quite a mess here under your stewardship
You thought you figured it out but you'll learn your place in this
Might take some convincing for you to see the truth
There are so many things we've got in store for you

and the alien invasion vibe is throughout the cd.
