You Can Not Rate That Post

What does this error mean? I am not trying to flag or star anything. It simply appears in the upper left corner when a thread is open.

It means you have more than likely already stared that post.
You can only star a post and flag a thread once

See the URL - towards the end you see "add star"

Did you follow a link that was sent to you or posted somewhere in an ATS thread?

If so, whoever made the link could have accidentally (or purposefully) embedded the 'add star' code. Then you starred the post just by clicking the link.

i wondered what that was about too!

i just ignore it, i have not been blocked from s+f unless i already have done that.

It happens to me everytime I hit F5 after starring a post. I don't think it is anything to worry about, unless they got some antihacking sofware that might report it as a false positive in trying to hack some stars

Hitting refresh refreshes the entire page, with the header containing the 'star post' flag _ or so I assume, because yes, everytime I hit refresh after starring I get the same. Makes sense to me.

You're telling ATS to refresh the page with a post you've starred. So rather than have refresh create multiple stars (oh lord...) or from people just going nuts, it lets you know.

Refresh would be unintended but the same.

As for why it would appear in this thread? I have no idea how, even if it was linked to and the linker has starred a post - there are no stars in this thread?

Or was it moved?

Indeed. If you look at the address bar in the screenshot you'll notice that the link ends with "pg3&addstar"... This the person/page that provided you with the link had the addstar in it.

not to derail, but how come when i post,

the thread sometimes go to the top and sometimes get to #5 or whatever?


doesn't seem like it's tied to flags or something.



should i be worried?
