My gut feeling is that the Giffords camp will wait a decent interval and then announce that she is resigning. By this time Gabby's husband and hero astronaut Mark Kelly will have resigned from NASA and announce that he is running in the special election to fill her vacant seat.

Hero hubby says he's going to retire in October, hints he wants to continue in public life, signs a book deal. Oh yeah, he's in the running:

Meanwhile, Giffords and Kelly announced Tuesday that they have a deal for a joint memoir. It is to be an intimate chronicle of everything from their careers and courtship to the Jan. 8 tragedy when a gunman shot Giffords in the head as she met with constitutents in Tucson, Arizona.

Wow a book deal, huh? Who could have predicted this?

Um...a shaved head is NOT a "telling sign" of a gunshot wound to the head. It's more a "telling sign" of experimental brain transplant surgery involving a 9 year old clone of Giffords going by the name of Christina Green.

That's not a bullet wound in her forehead, it's a scar from surgery, I've seen dozens of those in person and they do not look like bullet wounds. Also, where is the exit wound in the back of her head that would necessarily be much larger? It's totally absent and she is not missing any hair back there.

Giffords was not shot in the head, she had a partial brain transplant into a 9 year old clone going by the name of Christina Green.
