Obama has got to be running scared now...

At least five Romanian-made AK-47-style assault rifles purchased by suspects being traced by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) were found in a stash of weapons in Mexico, Evan Perez reports in a front-page story for the Wall Street Journal.

Meanwhile, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) has announced two hearings on ATF's "Project Gunrunner" and "Fast and Furious" scheduled for next week.

This is quickly getting out of hand...
as Issa has accused the Justice Department of stonewalling his investigation into how the guns were allowed to flow into Mexico. He's also scheduled a hearing for Monday which will focus on the constitutional questions raised by DOJ's "refusal to comply with a Congressional subpoena as well as the withholding of documents from a Congressional subpoena

What everyone is forgetting.....

The heavier arms such as Grenades, Rocket launchers and heavy machine guns are also US made and have serial numbers stamped in them that trace right back to the US and CIA involvement. Or did we sweep the nasties under the rug?

lol it seems easy to get out of the US into Canada/Mexico with anything illegal but to get into the US as an honest citizen can be a pain in the #$$.

Yes most of those were made here in the states but...
The cartels are buying them from other militaries Haiti and Guatemala are just two known countries that have sold arms

Weapons and dollars flow into Mexico, thousands of tons of illegal drugs flow into the USA.

It's a business relationship that select groups on both sides of the border greatly profit from, and will stop at nothing to protect.

By using your logic here, should we just assume since the AK-47 style rifles found were manufactured in Romania, that the Romanians are somehow involved here as well? Just because it was manufactured somewhere doesn't link them to it. These US made Vietnam era weapons have been sold on the open market over and over. There is no telling which countries militaries have sold them off.

ETA: I am not referring to the legal semi auto weapons from project gun runner. I am referring to the military grade class III and above weapons.

a ak-47 goes from 10 to 20 thousand in this country since they are illegal to bring in and what was already here was grandfathered in.

i watched the news clip today and they were going on and on about us made weapons made in mexico

the civilian version of the p90 was picutured among others that no self respect drug deal would be caught dead using.

full auto and the us is the most expensive most regulated places in the world to buy guns.

the story of us guns in mexico is bull crap which i have said time and time aigan.

drug dealers make there billions make smart decisions not by making stupid ones.

this is a charade most like to more anti constittution gun control.

i wish people would open their eyes if people know anything about us guns and laws you know the truth of this.

Every single ATF officer involved in this should be tried and convicted for Treason.

ATF should be disbanded, immediately. The agency has become the opposite of what it was created for.

How many lives has this "operation" cost already?

Yep its all BS. Why would drug cartels want to buy substandard Romanian junk semi- auto AKs made from used parts for $400 each when they can get Russian out of Africa, full auto for $140 or top of the line Norinco full auto for $240....

Does anyone else see how retarded Mexico buying guns in the US and smuggling them there is? Its a lie.

Did everyone forget that if this wasn't a made up bullcrap lie, they could go right to the US dealer and pull the gun paperwork for the person who bought them?

Are we supposed to believe the drug cartels can bring hundreds of tons of Coke up from south america and hundreds of tons of heroin from the middle east into Mexico yet they have to pay double for low grade junk guns in America because they cant buy high grade guns for half price and smuggle them into Mexico?

OK if they are that stupid....... Listen up cartels.........Hide the crates of AKs inside the bales of coke.
