Sorry. I'm understanding the OP's thread. But in response to the title: "Trump needs direction for presidential run".

1. Everyone knows he is too wealthy and doesn't need to be president, not unless he wants (more) power and control. After all, who wants to run for the POTUS? It's a mess of many layers beyond the pale.

2. Everyone knows he is too good to be true. The Republicans are in shambles and don't seem to care. The Democrats continue to make more mess than necessary. Perhaps, the "trump card" is in his favor.

Just guessing.
