I liked your own suggestion, Steel Craft, personally. That's the one that stood out to me.

But then again, the website isn't specialising in only steel sculptors...So maybe Metal Crafts instead or summat?

K, now that sounds rubbish.

How about:

New-Art.com
Timeless-arts.com
Forged-artisan.com
Millennium-steel.com
Imagination-metal.com ( OK so ....It sounds good...lol )

Not sure if this is out of line BUT please tell me that the template that you have now is not the template that you plan to use in the production of this website!

I build websites for a living and can tell you that the amount of "metal" that you have on this website is way too much and "drowns" the sculptures themselves.

I see that you are using www.concrete5.org... as your CMS and most likely this is just a template that is found within it and while concrete5 claims to be a "CMS made for Marketing but built for Geeks" it is really hard to rank in google with concrete5.

I am currently building realtyblok.com... for a real estate client. Notice how the "gallery" of houses stands out, not to mention that this website automatically posts anything posted to the website on twitter, the contact forms that stand out, the sidebar on the right etc...

You see, you WANT the gallery of his work to stand out so as soon as a visitor gets to your site their eyes are automatically drawn to his pieces.

Also, you might want to consider dumping concrete5 altogether and use something that you have the most control over, like wordpress!

Another example of mine that has a nice carrousel for the pictures on the home page would be yaptalk.tk...
(Please note that this website is not completed as it needs a few tweaks to go before "launch" this week)

See how the carrousel stands out as well as all of the other pictures below it? See the "flow" of the website?

You want to make it easy for your web visitor to go from visit to purchase and that is the flow of it.

Another thing that you are missing is an email capture form, so you could capture the emails of your visitors and keep them "updated" as to any new pieces that are created and as any internet marketing person knows, the money is in the list since now you have an opted in email list that you can market to at any time! (free tip)

The theme that you are using from concrete5 ("dark chocolate") is missing a ton of things that would bring your site from mediocre to great!

Looking at your source code you are missing meta descriptions, tags and a whole bunch of other things that allows you to rank well.

Another thing, did you do a keyword research to see which keywords you want to rank for? That is another BIG factor when deciding which domain name you are getting.

Please take this as constructive criticism so you could make a GREAT website!

If you need any help, I'm only a u2u away...

The website is very poorly put together. An all flash website is absolutely awful for SEO and search engine rankings. For this website it's okay but for future websites, especially ones in a competitive niche, it would be foolish. The clients don't know best and it's your job to tell them when they engage in lunacy and go against common sense.

A good website name? The one you suggested, just go with .net rather than .com

eclecticmetal.net is available.

Not too hard. Dot Net isn't all that uncommon and doesn't harm your search engine power. I use it as a second option to .com all the time.

The good news is if you go with the above domain you'd only need about 10 backlinks to get to the top of Google. The bad news is eclectic metal only gets about 15 global monthly searches a month

You can bill your client extra for getting him to the top of Google. I want 20% of your additional income from getting him to the top of Google, thanks

Can't give you a name, but i can tell you to try and keep it under 7 letters, and if it's one word, huge bonus.

That depends on your intentions. I don't have a single website with a 1 word domain, and I've had hundreds. It's certainly not a rule.

If you're looking to develop a brand name and identity it's practical, if you're going for rankings, traffic and profit then it would be counter productive.

In this case eclectic metal has no competition so it would be worth going with a short domain.

Good look with that. There must be about 10,000 businesses across the world called Metal Craft. I've worked at 2

This website is in a rough draft form with 1 hour put into it. It also has no flash in it at all, the cue is built with a jquery script. The person is not a client, this work is carried out completely free, as well as their marketing and seo so charging for extras never comes into play. In this post you can see that I have gone with eclecticmetals.com as an alternative. Regardless I really do appreciate everyone's input I do, but you guys are wasting your breath so to speak, to the point where one of the posters is giving advice on seo and comparing wordpress to a cms, when the links to his own sites have page rankings of absolute zero and have critical errors in validation markup.

I will provide a link Monday or Tuesday when I am done if anyone is interested as I would love to have all the feedback possible, but giving me that feedback now is premature.
