Even on ATS people are so quick to bring out the pitchforks and are so hasty in destroying their own rights. You people are more emotional, and even more unreasonable than the average population.

It just never ceases to amaze me.

We're supposed to be a reasonable splinter of society, albeit a bit imaginative at times. Try to see the bigger picture folks.

Any number of adults can get up to whatever skatty stuff they like as long as it's all consensual, I'm so broad minded sexually that kiddie fiddlin is about the only place I draw any line, even if it's all fantasy, I guess most folk in this particular guys town and family agree with me.

I am sure I could also find a town where most folk agree with stoning adulterers to death.

No victim - no crime.

So... fictional murder, torture, rape etc. etc. etc. okay (often on network television no less and often involving kids) but this needs to be a criminal act... sorry if that doesn't make much sense to me.

WTF is wrong with some people? His own daughter? Stories like this always seem to bring the chomos out of the woodwork to rally behind the fellow sicko and call normal people barbaric for wanting this creepy SOB punished, touting freedom of speech, or expression or whatever. Obviously, there are limits to both, and children need to be where the line is drawn. There are laws against child abuse, and I believe these actions could very conceivably scar this poor girl for life.

In your most humble opinion.

Well it does to me, so I guess that's your problem.

No.....but I think that anyone who does things like this had likely molested kids before, and at the very least, someone should be aware of it... he apparently has the potential to molest, as he asked his own daughter to pose for him in her underwear. That's what I mean when I say he should be watched. If it were only this photo thing, as bad as it is, that's one thing. But taken in totality (the photoshop thing AND asking his daughter to pose) he crossed the line into reality. I apologize if I go off the deep end on this.....but it really gets to me.

Don't apologize you are absolutely right, the folk arguing against our stance have gotten their moral compasses twisted about worrying about freedom having not quite grasped the nuances.

Jeez the asking his daughter to pose in underwear is enough to get this guy locked up if you ask me and I can't understand anyone not thinking the same way about it.

This is NOT the thin end of the wedge of thought crime, it's just a creepy pervert getting the punishment, exposure and opprobrium he deserved.

Again in the UK his identity would be withheld to protect the identity of the child, this kind of thing has happened many times.

Don't pretend to not understand the difference between fictional characters and paid actors, and a living breathing child who's own father coaxed her into posing in her underwear, then imposed her face on pornographic images. I find your feigned confusion creepy, to say the least. If you don't understand the potential damage something like that can do to a person, I'm not sure how anybody could help you make sense of anything.

But he was not punished in any way for those pasted pictures. It was for his other crimes, with an actual victim.

Hey wrong again but who cares it's only a paedo dad and a thirteen year old girl, she should be glad to be sacrificed on the alter of personal freedom.

Making pictures is not a crime, nor should it be. Lots of pictures people make as art are disgusting to me, doesn't mean they should be illegal to make. Some bible thumpers would love to see all nudity banned based on their moral compass, and they are wrong as well. Some muslims would love to see any picture of a woman without one of those things they are supposed to wear illegal. Who gets to decide?

You can disambiguate all you want - I could care less.

THIS. IS. WRONG. PERIOD.

This is a picture of a little girl pasted onto the body of an adult - by the ‘father’ who used his daughters little face to pleasure himself over. The selfish scumbag.

So how about you get the facts straight and stop comparing apples and oranges?

This isn’t about ’bible thumpers’ or Christians or Muslims or even nudity for that matter. This is a discussion over something so fundamentally WRONG it’s hard to copperhead how anyone can even think there is a gray line. Because there is no gray line here.

This issue is as cut and dried as they come. You know it and I know it - the difference is I‘m not the least bit afraid to stand up and say so.

peace

Once again, it's the pictures we're discussing and the creation of the pictures harms no one...

Now do you want to go to prison based on what you think alone ?

What part about he didn't just THINK it don't you understand?

I'll be the first one to stand up AGAINST thought crime - but - as I said in my original post - he went beyond thought and put it into action.

Enough said. You want to play juggle semantics take it somewhere else I'm not interested in playing today.

Agreed he can do what the hell he likes behind closed eyelids but once it gets into the real world he should be in for a world of pain, clear and simple and as you say no grey line.

I wish we could cut California along it's state line and just kick it out into the Pacific to float away and just let them have at it on their own. I lived there for 4 years. That state is the most screwed up and valueless state in the union and the majority of the population possesses a sense government entitlement that is unrivalled anywhere else in this country.

What part about Stephen King didn't just THINK it don't you understand?

He wrote a fictional account about it! OMG!

What part about the screen writer didn't just THINK it don't you understand?

He made a film that depicted a 13 year old being tortured, raped and killed! OMG he is a criminal!
