Just though people on here might want to check into this.

terrorism.about.com...

Almost every government agency has a terrorist watchlist: there's the TSA No Fly list, the OFAC Specially Designated Nationals list, a State Department List, and an FBI list. As these lists grow, so do the number of innocent people flagged as suspected terrorists. It doesn't take that much to be flagged. All you need to have is a name that is almost like one on a list. What can you do to find out if you are one of those people? And what can you do if you are flagged? Unfortunately, there is still no full recourse for the innocent. But here are some steps you can take.

Phew... almost had a panic attack when the search function stalled for a second before turning up the results! Good news is I am not currently on the list, bad news is I am sure most of us will be some day.

It is a PDF if your that paranoid, just save it to a media drive and put it on a machine that has no network access to do your search.

Much thanks for that link! My last name is on there, but thanfully, not my or next-of-kin's first name(s).

Whew! I don't have any reason to be worried, but with the direction the National Security State has been going,..............

Open up the PDF document and you will see a search box on the top right. Insert your name and choose "next in current PDF" and it will search for your name.

ETA: Hot damn; after 20 minutes of my slow ass computer running the search, neither my real name nor my screen name appears on the list.

I must not be trying hard enough.

I would stop some of the people just for their last name. IE "BUTT" and "DOCKRAT".

Sorry, no offense to anyone on here with those last names.

Everyone should try to get on all the lists as a sign of protest.

The more people on it, The more it becomes as useful as a phone book.

If 200 million names were on it, it would not be worth them keeping it.

do you actually think this is the REAL list ?
do you actually think it would be open
for public inspection ?

The gov keeps 2 sets of accounting
records, don't you think they would
do the same thing for a watch list ???

I highly doubt anybody here at ATS
will find their name on this list. But
the real one is a different story.

Yeah, something not quite right about making this type of list public, it just tips off the bad guys who they can't use on their next airport bomb mission... just gives one the feeling this is all part of a fake war on terror complete with a list of bogeymen we're supposed to fear.

Interesting post indeed!

Gonna pass on looking at or downloading anything like this though. If it is for public eyes, obviously our government doesn't mind EVERYONE seeing it. If that's the case, why open it up?
