While I appreciate the vigilance, it seems a lot of people flinch every time the sun lets out a puff of plasma.

Calm down people and focus on matters closer to home!

I am getting sick and tired of all those threads as well.. The activity at present times is BELOW normal. This is the weakest solar maximum in at least a century, and still people keep hyping up every small flare.

I guess most people here on ATS have a very short memory span.
I wish those who keep spewing doomsday scenarios would actually research instead of making up wild assumptions.

I don't think I'd run a thread on a flare anything short of an X-class, which we actually had a couple months ago...
