just saw this photo of a "scientist" (wearing a bow tie??) with alleged unknown sea creature. the article does not state where it was found... in fact the only text was this.

I found these images on Karl Shuker’s facebook page.

looking at some of the comments it appears it may be at least 2 years old.
thought i would post it, see if anyone else has seen of this and if it has it been debunked?
IMO it looks as though it could be a "model" of some sort, but with anything that comes from the sea, we never do know..

Oh That?

That's just what happens when you flush a tadpole down the toilet.

isn't that impressive.

would have thought there is plenty of eels that size in deep sea.

Looks like a model to me although that could be because it has been rotting?

I don't think it would be there long enough to rot without getting noticed and wouldn't the media jump on a story like this anyway?

Smells like a hoax to me.

Edit to add: OH. And it smells fishy...ahhh too late. The moments gone.

So funny

Whatever it is, it looks as if it is made from paper. A paper model. Looks fake.

Nah, it was funny, really, i get it because its a giant fish... though technically its not a fish... but still, it probably smells like one... oh well.

Ok, the NRFCL-game is on. "Maybe the dude is trying to sell some snake-oil."

It's a fake. Takeshi Yamada is known as a "Rogue Taxidermist" and he creates fantasy creatures. The Fuji Mermaid is probably the most famous creation of a "rogue taxidermist". Yamada's "claim to fame" (
) is the sea rabbit.

More of his works

And a video of him for good measure:

Edit: A blog Entry on the "sea serpent".

The Asian tsunami back in 2006 washed up and bunch of weird sea creatures that have never been seen before, Dwellers from the bottoms of the ocean. There is so much we haven't yet discovered that I can see this being possible.
This picture, meh, it may be a fake, but I wouldn't doubt that something that like could exist...
