Nothing will happen to Greer.

He's protected.

At the moment Judge Boyle is about to pass sentence he will be compelled to drop his gavel and pick up a guitar and start singing Kumbaya. Greer, Smith and Foch will then levitate and float out of the court room window to their rightful freedom drifting along in a cloud of fluttering moths.

I doubt Greer is a plant, fruitcake maybe and definitely loopy. He is a physician, not a dentist btw.

I have no evidence that Greer is intentionally trying to discredit honest UFO whistleblowers, but he couldn't do a better job.

Agreed. The man's been in the game for over 20 years now, and he could easily be in it for another 20 yet.
