Aren't we always bitching about politicians?

I don't see why we start this club thing or something and we all keep progress as eachother as we run for city council, the senate, ect ect..

I don't see why we all don't band together and try and make a difference within our own communities ect we could write testimonies about eachother's viewpoints ect ... I don't know just a thought.

I know Amuk took a step forward and was elected a libertarian position in his home town, I think we should all be doing something like this..

Amuk, could you give more information on what position you took, wha tyou did ect??

I see alot of people on this board have more brains then the majority of politicians in office and I really believe we should be putting this into action.

I will support anybody here who decides to take action and run.
Again I have to say congratulations to Amuk, you teenage brat lunatic...

Eexcellant idea, now all of us fringe-lunatic teenage brats can have power.

Nah, but seriously it is a good idea. I'm too young to run for anything politcal yet, but I can inform others to deny ignorance and to open their minds to other ideas. Give me another 15 years before I am able to run for something.

, I'm into the older music bands from the 60s,70s, and 80s nothing from the 90s. Man, would Guns N Roses, Queen, The Doors, and Eric Clapton redeem me
.

Hey, good luck if you run for office.

BT,

Even though your a liberal I really do think you are a very intelligent human being, and I would support you. Partisanship aside, your truly super bright.

I'm going run next year, the elections are over here...

We could all help eachother out with campaigning and such...

So many bright people on this board i'd hate to see it go to waste.

I am on the Dem/Lib team, however. Why? Reality. I would love us to adopt a sys tem like Canada, where seats are gained even if a high post is lost. Given our system & where the country has been brought to in 4 years under Bush, Dem is the only other standing 'army' and the only one with the artillary to change regimes.
I'm a Moderate/Centrist if a category was to be assigned for me. I would have voted McCain in 2000 after two Clinton votes, given that choice.

We're in the exact same boat. I'll call myself a Moderate/Centrist too, maybe add realist, and one that does NOT want Bush to be re-elected. I'd likely vote for McCain over Kerry, but I live in AZ so maybe I'd just be voting for the home team. But I'm sure he would make some changes in the GOP, I know he disagrees with his party on a few issues.

I think it is a great idea to run as many people for office as we can. Lets show Socialist Party A and Socialist Party B that we don't HAVE to vote for one of them.

After I finish my degree work in political science and get out of the Army (I can't run for partisan office so long as I am in) I will run for the Gov. seat in Nevada. The first thing I will do when I get elected is to trespass Hillary Clinton and her boyfiend Janet Reno from the state
(insert evil laugh here.)

Give me the money and I'll run....run right out of the US - lol

Honestly tho - I'd love to run for office - I think I have many opinions that are shared by a large majority of people and I have the ambition and motivation to make things happen, but I don't have the extra money....

And I can only
for supoort so long before I want to
:bash: the people who provide it for stepping on my toes

Maybe the day when we overrun the gov't and form a new one, I'll be more proactive....for now all I can do is express my opinions by voting, keeping up with events, and by posting here on ATS and absorbing some of the great comments and ideas of my fellow members.

I am not elected to anything yet I am just the Libertarian party head in my area we are working on fielding a candidate for city council for the next election.

I am in touch with Libertarians on the state and federal level and it is really quite easy to do just google the Libertarians and go your state reps and gop from there

Have you spent any of your own money acheiving this position? I'm not trying to sound like a tight-wad here - lol - It's just that I have a lot of things I'd love to get across to people but I have this repressive image in my head of going bankrupt trying to get my ideas out there...

What money?

With the internet you can do anything.

For me it was easy just pulling togather the Libertarians in my home town.

It does not cost anything to write to your newspaper editor, post on internet boards, etc

Now for the election its a bit different that will cost some money but luckly I live in a small town so even that wont be much
