I could understand it if that was in China with someone's second daughter, but in India where there are no child birth laws? Sheesh, they must be desperate for some new spectator sports.

Edit: Or maybe that's just how they punish people who don't wear pants.

In some parts of India this is a really normal. The cobras defanged and devenomized so relax people. The reason they do this is to teach the kids what to do when they encounter a cobra. The first step is to get rid of their fear. Cobras in India are as common as McDonalds in America. Only difference is we in America were never taught how to fight against it.....

I agree with the OP. It can and looked like it was beginning to wrap around the kids neck. I cant imagine it would take much constriction from the snake to harm the kid.

Bizarre to say the least.

They de-fang the cobra the teach the baby no fear of snakes.
