a flare can be the biggest and not be the strongest

still i dont think this was either the biggest nor the strongest

but still quiet impressive release ...it just shows huge CME's releases many times cannot be predicted..just notice the calm before the storm

This is easy. The solar cycle is 11 years. Most posters here are not old enough (and the news reporter's memory not strong enough) to remember the *great* events of the last season.
