I,never would of thought I,would of wrote a thread like this. But over the weekend I,saw on my TV ,a show where republicans that are conservative to come and talk. It was the faith and political conference. I,normally don't listen to RON PAUL,but he talked about something that caught my ear. It was the book of 1st SAMUEL,CHAPTER 8.

Now we need to read this whole chapter again. You see,we complain daily on our leaders and kings and Presidents. We just aren't happy about anything they do. Like I,am a DEMOCRAT, but I,voted republican because I,didn't trust or like Mr.Obama change. As you all know I,am a Christian,I,am pro-life and pro-on other things. Now what I,am trying to get at,is man kind brought all this mess upon our self. It all started way back in biblical time. Man kind choice was they wanted a king, not just God as their leader. But every time something went wrong, they would cry to God to help them. In short MAN KIND had a choice,to follow only God as their leader. But they chose a king to follow. So,God said let them have one. Then that's when God turned his back on MAN KIND.......HERE IS THE SCRIPTURES.

Chapter 8 1 And it came to pass, when Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over Israel.
2 Now the name of his firstborn was Joel; and the name of his second, Abiah: they were judges in Beersheba.

3 And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgment
. 4 Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah,
5 And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.
6 But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD.
7 And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.
8 According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.
9 Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.
10 And Samuel told all the words of the LORD unto the people that asked of him a king.
11 And he said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and some shall run before his chariots.
12 And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and will set them to ear his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots.
13 And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers.
14 And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants.
15 And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants.
16 And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, and your asses, and put them to his work.
17 He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be his servants.
18 And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the LORD will not hear you in that day.
19 Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us;
20 That we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles.
21 And Samuel heard all the words of the people, and he rehearsed them in the ears of the LORD. 22 And the LORD said to Samuel, Hearken unto their voice, and make them a king. And Samuel said unto the men of Israel, Go ye every man unto his city.

SO,in short what I,am saying,we chose to have a leader and let them take all this from us.We had a better way,GOD,BUT MAN KIND CHOSE A KING,LEADERS,A PRESIDENT. So,I,am saying we have to make a change if we want to go back to the way it was suppose to be. GOD,WARNED US,A VERY LONG TIME AGO.
THIS,MADE me stop and think of how did we get to where we are now. This is where all began centuries ago. So,if we want change, jobs, homes, medical care and other things,we need to get right.America needs to wake up.Since we have a PRESIDENT,WE MUST PUT ONE IN THERE THAT DOES OUR VALUES. Our constitutional rights, our freedom of speech, freedom of faith, there is a scripture,in Deuteronomy, that said we were not to
borrow, but only lend.. If we followed Gods word we wouldn't be in our mess now.He showed and gave the law,so we wouldn't be in the mess we are now.

Deuteronomy 15:6 >>For the LORD your God will bless you as he has promised, and you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. You will rule over many nations but none will rule over you.

But what about the seperation of church and state ?
and we must follow the law of the land where we can in service to each other.
we can do that with out letting go of god.
i think god will judge us on our merits not where we live and who controls the land..
(but as a disclamier im not a follower of Abrahamic faith)
which is why faith should be kept out of state, so no religious group is persecuted by the parliament

As for separation of state and church.People misunderstood what president Jefferson said in a letter he wrote. The Mythical "Wall of Separation": How a Misused Metaphor Changed Church–State Law, Policy, and Discourse,

Thanks for that

As for seperation of church and state i was asking your view as your op seemed to suggest the need for a Christian president.
but maybe i read it wrong or just read too much between the lines.
Well all i know is thats its a little diffrent here in our lands.

Section 116 of the 1900 Act to constitute the Commonwealth of Australia (Australian Constitution) provides that:
The Commonwealth of Australia shall not make any law establishing any religion, or for imposing any religious observance, or for prohibiting the free exercise of any religion, and no religious test shall be required as a qualification for any office or public trust under the Commonwealth.

Separation is not the live political issue in this country that it is in the US. The Supreme Court there has interpreted words nearly identical in both our constitutions to prevent public money being paid to religious institutions. In that far more religious society (92 per cent of Americans believe in God v 68 per cent of Australians) battles over church and state provoke continuous political flashpoints.
Not here. Our High Court long ago ticked off on public money pouring into church schools, something almost unthinkable in the US. These billions are safer than ever since Mark Latham's reform proposals were shot down in flames at the 2004 election. Last year the High Court declined to test if our constitution allowed Canberra to subsidise World Youth Day. Again, unthinkable in the US.

we dont have any bias on what religious practices should happen in Australia, but our government will support relgion with funding for schools etc.
i mean we are so open mined we even consider atheism to be a religion.

In 1983, the High Court of Australia defined religion as a complex of beliefs and practices which point to a set of values and an understanding of the meaning of existence. The ABS 2001 Census Dictionary defines "No Religion" as a category of religion which has subcategories such as agnosticism, atheism, Humanism and rationalism.

Don't worry, that will happen permanently when the church is raptured.

Not to mention it will be an interesting sound and light show when it comes...
Dont get me wrong, i belive in jesus and his family, but having seen the mountain we walk over, there is many paths to take to the top.
My knowledge dosnt negate any as wrong.
I spent time talking to jesus in my heart and i know what i have to do, some say my path will take me to heaven, others say to hell, i say i walk between the two, but neither is the end for me, as i am a spirit walker, a light bearer of the rear guard.
my work here is never done

When i get to heaven its to drop someone off then i turn around and escort he next person who asks for my help.
Some people want to see the door to the darkness, its not my place to stop them, as they too must face the pit they dug for themselves.before they can see the light.
my job is just to show them the door and where to find the key. they must walk in alone..
to me the rapture is just a side show to the real performance.
but travel well , and peace on your journey
ill be the one with the white flag and lamp at the bottom of the stairs.

Then the belief you have of Christ is that He was a liar. He said "NO MAN" would go to the Father except through Him.

I dont base my belief in reading a book, i did it with my heart.
When i went to jesus, we had a good talk and he showed me god.. then i made a choice on what path i wanted to take next, my station in life, i decided to give up my place in heaven to help others..
i have a broader understanding now.
it dosnt mean i think he lied. in fact i dont see how you got that out of what i said

you cant know why i walk the way i do just as i dont judge your path...
i no longer have faith, i walked that path to jesus and it gave me knowledge,
now i walk in knowledge to do the job i was given..
simple as that.
i opened my eyes and then leaped into the abyss to look for those that were left behind, just as jesus would have done.
leave no man behind.

Well, you claim there are numerous paths.

Christ said there was one only.

One of you are wrong.

That would depend on what the destination is..
In my mind there is no right or wrong, there just is.. so his way is his way.
it is one of the many paths.
my place isnt to judge others but to show them what they look for.
i am a death walker
this might help you see my path

The psychopomp also waits with and comforts the soul of a person who is dying and guides them across at the moment of death. The psychopomp also has the ability to search for lost souls, find them and guide them home. The soul can become lost when death occurs, the soul is caught unprepared. Depending on the person's spiritual or religious beliefs, the soul may not remember where its spiritual home is.

i know yours and others are different, thats what makes it so fun.
i get to see many paths, and they dont all lead to the same place and there is more places then heaven and hell.
the afterlife is bigger then many want to imagine. where you go is your choice.
journey well and if you do get lost, theres always some one to guide you home

peace and light
