This is what is wrong with this country.... The man is hired to do a job, not to conform his private life to how you see fit. Judge the man on how he is doing the job he was hired to do. It makes me agnry I see more outrage over this and the clinton sex scandal than I do when an "official" is caught actually breaking the law......

I don't know how I missed this story on him from about 5 days ago.

Now, it all comes back to me and who he (Lover Boy) is.

I sure hope he gets booted by re-districting (which would be a humiliating experience) or by voter choice...which I go expect.

Anyway. Makes a good read and a look into what he has done to make him what he is today....

The dirty trick that launched Anthony Weiner's career

You can certainly make a compelling case that Anthony Weiner should not have to give up his seat in Congress or his career in elected politics because of the online photo scandal that has engulfed him this week. But if this does end up being the end for Weiner's public career, it might not be quite the injustice it seems like -- at least if you know how his career began.

Twenty years ago, Weiner was a young aide to an ambitious, still somewhat obscure Brooklyn congressman named Charles Schumer (It starts from there.. at the main source article)

It was at this point that Weiner's campaign decided to blanket the district with leaflets attacking his opponents. But these were no ordinary campaign attacks: They played the race card, and at a very sensitive time. They were also anonymous.

Just weeks earlier, the Crown Heights riot -- a deadly, days-long affair that brought to the surface long-standing tension between the area's black and Jewish populations -- had played out a few miles away from the 48th District. The episode had gripped all of New York and had been national news. It was just days after order had been restored that Weiner's campaign distributed its anonymous leaflets, which linked Cohen -- whose voters he was targeting in particular -- to Jesse Jackson and David Dinkins, who was then New York's mayor. It is hard to imagine two more-hated political figures in the 48th District at that moment. Jackson just a few years earlier had called New York "Hymie town," and it was an article of faith among white voters in Weiner's part of Brooklyn that Dinkins had protected the black rioters in Crown Heights -- and thus endangered the white population -- by refusing to order a harsh police crackdown. (Two years later, Dinkins would lose to Rudy Giuliani by an 80-20 percent margin in the 48th District.) The leaflets urged voters to "just say no" to the "Jackson-Dinkins agenda" that Cohen supposedly represented. At City Hall, Dinkins held up the flier and branded it "hateful."

what goes around comes around ??

i wonder if Weiner supported pro-black policies AFTER that ?

especially when He can't seem to keep the lies straight !

Just asking.

i for one AM interested.

it helps to analyze politicians.

voters should consider this.

now there is at least one casualty from all this.

Lisa Weiss, the black jack dealer in Las Vegas has been threatened with job loss by The Bellagio.

the quote is from a local paper that has legal problems with ATS, so i can't post a direct link to the article.

......Weiss' Bellagio bosses told her not to come to work for a week until the "media frenzy" died down and threatened to fire her if she did any more interviews, she told TMZ Tuesday.

At Weiss' listed address near the Las Vegas Beltway and Eastern Avenue, a handwritten sign taped to the front door welcomed visitors.

"NO TRESPASSING. NO REPORTERS. NO INTERVIEWS. NO MEDIA," the sign read, followed by a threat to prosecute "anyone not leaving this property."

Windows on the front doors were covered with sheets of white paper. One had a quarter-sized peephole cut out.

well, who's fault is this ? Her's or His ?

take my word for what's it's worth ......

i know someone who works with Lisa !

they say that the big "B" may fire Her !

the dealers there are sticking up for Her by casually mentioning their support to the managers at Bellagio.

Bellagio is owned by the giant MGM casino cartel.

they hate bad publicity.

it's a hot topic around LV.....even the guests are asking for Lisa on the gambling floor at Bellagio !!!!!

they want to say they had Lisa as their dealer !!!!

they even want pictures !!!!

the floor bosses are going crazy with requests !

maybe the casino should offer photo opportunities .. they could make big $$.

are you listening Bellagio ??

maybe Weiner now takes His Vegas vacation !!!

might help pay His legal fees later !

here is a related article from a Vegas TV station:

Fault? And you offer only two choices? I'd say it's the Casino's 'fault.' I mean it does take two to Tango assuming she and Weiner exchanged consensual 'dirty talk' so they are both culpable in the cyber affair. Inasmuch as I'm for "The Weinster" to step down (for lying as an elected official, not for carnal improprieties) I don't think she shouldn't lose her job over it. Especially since she works in "Sin City." LOL

Perhaps I have a double standard but I don't think it is Rep Weiner's fault for the actions of her bosses IMHO.

of course it's the employer's fault !

that's why Her friends are sticking up for Her as a fellow worker.

i'm not sure, but i don't think the Bellagio dealers are in a union.

some dealers are "union" in some casinos, as are many other jobs.

the guests are sticking up for Her as well. THAT'S the best part !

I was in the Bellagio a few hours ago, and a lot of people are talking !!

i actually saw some young guys (guests, not workers) walking around in t-shirts that say "Where's Lisa ?" !!!

even the poker room dealers have signed a petition in Her favor.

(the poker dealers don't work in the blackjack area ... different dept)

my friend (also a Bellagio employee) that knows the girl says the managers are considering a different approach.

(my friend IS a manager there, but not blackjack).

the managers are being told to take a "neutral" stance when confronted by employees or guests.

and yes, "Sin City" applies ......

Does it really matter if he's unfaithful to his wife? Exactly where in the political process does Fidelity come into play? Frankly I could care less what Rep. Weiner does with his.... you get the point as long as he's not abusing anyone or abusing animals.... Beyond that frankly who cares. Companies like Ashley Madison, which is solely for Married people to have affairs and we're worried about a man having Cyber/phone sex? Really are we so hypocritical that we want to ignore that most people do the same exact thing or go farther? Exactly what function does a Senator's Genitals have while in office? Is there some Voting method I'm unaware of?

You know, I just love you defenders of this man when you don't know all the facts yet.

The newest for the day as this thing seems to grow larger by the day.

Weiner admits communication with 17-year-old girl

www.cbsnews.com...

So, what will it be next week? Hmmm. Want to take a guess or is this enough for you? Not enough? Then don't worry because I think there will be more coming forth soon.

So, to ansywer your thread-basically, YES it does matter what type of personal characteristics this person has.

You may not have seen my post back a ways but...

I bet you he wouldn't have gotten into office had the voters known he was doing what he was doing, then continued after getting married and then continued after his wife was with HIS child.

Yea, real stand up guy I want in Gov't representing any US Citizen.

That's the problem with the defenders... you have gotten to a point that this crap is okay (as long as it is a Democrat).

and maybe there will be crimminal involvment !

Police officers went to a high school junior's home in Delaware Friday afternoon to speak with the girl about her contact with the New York Democrat, police have confirmed. The interview was first reported by FoxNews.com, which had a reporter at the home when police arrived.

Weiner spokeswoman Risa Heller said in a one-sentence statement Friday night, "According to Congressman Weiner, his communications with this person were neither explicit nor indecent."

A police spokeswoman confirmed that officers had interviewed an area teenager about online contacts with the congressman.

i wonder WHO will interview anybody about "offline" contact ??? !!!

Weiner has lied about everything so far ....

what does Nancy say NOW ?

i wonder if He and Nancy were "online" "friends"

ooo lala .

i wonder if they speak French ?

well, at least Weiner has one friend:

one of impeccable credentials no less .....

news.yahoo.com...

Weiner did pick up support from Rep. Charles Rangel, a New York Democrat who was censured by the House last year for ethics violations.

Rangel suggested that other members of Congress had done things more immoral than Weiner.

Rangel said Weiner "wasn't going with prostitutes. He wasn't going out with little boys."

now, is Rangel starting new rumors Hmmmmm

c'mon Charlie, tell us about these "other members of Congress"......

next we will hearing about encrypted emails.

Naw but I am fascinated by how this whole thing is breaking down... as it relates to Social Medias.

You are way too interested in the details and the women involved and you do not seem to care even remotely about these women. If Weiner is the horrible man you think he is, these women deserve at the very least some peace after their ordeal with him. You are here talking about how "good" it gets.

The new America. Go figure.

So, what did you think of the taped ABC interview that I posted?

Not sure. I see the big government link above but no ABC interview. This thread has been moving too fast to keep up with this week so I am not sure what you are referring to, sorry.

If you support him now-after watching that.... I begin to wonder.

Have a great day. No more WeinerGate today... (I hope it's going down now)

I still support him after watching everything I have seen. In fact, it mostly the arguments in this thread that reinforced how I felt and nothing Weiner has said or done so far has changed that.

While you are so worried about all the dirty details, I am only worried about a man elected to serve his people. His people feel pretty served. That is their business. As far as interest goes, the interesting thing is that the Republicans call for his ouster while allowing their own perverted, law breaking, cheaters to remain. That is probably the ugliest part of all of this.

Can you seriously refute what the write writes and concludes?

Yes.
Easily.
By quoting the article directly.

"My constituents have to make the determination," he said.

Which is technically true.

Your author refuted himself.
Unless you have an aversion to the "technically true."

Most of his constituents do not care about this and want him to stay. Does the word "most" mean something different to you than it does to me?

Maybe a little too eager, if you get my point. Could you possibly be part of Weiner's staff, or in some other way employed by Weiner? If so, there are definitely ATS rules against that. ...

Just saying ...

There are rules against someone from Weiner's staff posting in his defense on ATS? I would like to see that rule. I guess since there is only one of me trying to keep up with 4 or 5 of you, by your reasoning you all must be employed by the opposition. Either that or we are all people with strong opinions. You guys think only Democrats should be held accountable for being horny. I do not think anyone in office should be.

Democrat: People complain, the party doesn't demand his resignation, he gets reelected, or a spot on MSNBC.
Republican: People complain, his party demands he resigns, he resigns in disgrace.

David Vitter R cheated on his wife with illegal prostitutes that he arranged from a phone on the house floor. The RNC defended him and he is still in office.

Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have both demanded Anthony step down. Does reality just hurt too much?

Hi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Still here. I have to ask. Did you post that picture in case no one understood what a porn star looked like or because you just love the salacious tabloid gossip of it all? I cannot really see any serious reason to go to the trouble to upload that picture to your files to embed it here other than it kind of excited you to do so.

This kind of goes to my larger point. Politicians are literally raping us left and right. They steal our money, give it to banks, then need to raise taxes to make up for the money the banks keep apparently hiding. Backroom deals are made everyday to allow more and more poison into our environment and food supply. The economy is being played with like a political chess board. The reality in the US today is people are out of work, children are failing out of school, and trying to be healthy is emptying bank accounts. But look at all the attention a horny many gets.

If this were a more perfect world, I could get upset with him.

I can easily get mad at the sheer stupidity of it all in the first place. You have to be an idiot to exchange messages, let alone pictures, of that nature over the internet. You have to be almost brain dead to do it with people you really do not know. You probably have to be a little ill to think that sending dirty pictures with your face in them, from your computer, to a stranger might be a safe thing to do. Sure, you probably have to be a pretty crappy husband to do any of those things while married. It does not even make a half decent boyfriend.

Unfortunately, I understand that people, men especially, do really stupid things when the blood leaves their brain and begins to concentrate lower. The animal nature to use your genitals is stronger than most other urges in the natural world. I have yet to meet one person that can honestly they claim they have never lied or been ashamed of something that took place while they were in that state of mind. That is personal and it has nothing to do with the strangers I go to in order to obtain goods or services. Politicians are those strangers.

When the Republicans were holding up funding for the 9/11 rescue workers health benefits, Anthony was the loudest voice shouting about it. It was being held up for political bickering. I remember him speaking out there more than the picture that has been on television every night for two weeks of his undies. The reason being is that his job is to serve the people, like the men and women suffering because they tried to help on 9/11. His job is not to keep it in his pants.

If there were no politicians actively making it harder for the average citizen to vote, travel, earn a living, get healthcare, raise smart healthy children, own property, speak freely, etc. etc. then I would be really pissed at Anthony and demand he step down just for the simple fact that his effectiveness among his peers is most likely relatively zero at this point and even I admit that if he and I were to sit face to face, I could hardly take him seriously.

Unfortunately, in the grand scheme of things, he is a more honorable congressman than most others out there. He is just a really bad husband. He ain't my husband.

Pelosi declines to call for Weiner's resignation

i guess She changed Her mind (again and again and again !)

news.yahoo.com...

– Fri Jun 10, 7:07 pm ET

WASHINGTON – Amid increasing calls for Rep. Anthony Weiner to resign, House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi says the decision should be up to the congressman and his New York constituents.

The former speaker said in San Francisco that she believes the decision should be made by "the individual member" and the people in his district......

"the individual member" and the people in his district ???

"the individual lier" and the misled people in his district" would be more accurate !

In a recent poll of registered voters in Weiner's district, 56 percent said he should stay in office while 33 percent said he should leave.

still don't how many were polled in comparison to total voters when He was last elected ?

a few hundred "selected" targets are hardly the real "vote".....but then again ?

that district has 10's of thousands of voters ... yes ?

no one is answering THAT

Instead of trying to derail this thread with this topic, how about trying to start your OWN thread about Vitter and see what happens.

It has nothing to do with an attempt to "derail." Either you have standards or not. I would like to know. Apparently you have one set for Dems and one for Reps?

It's a little odd the path you use to make your point.... IMO.

Pointing out your and others' hypocrisy confuses you? I feel like you actually get it but do not want to address it. It is a perfectly legitimate question. From all the people calling for Weiner to resign, where is your outrage over another member who is still in office for an illegal sex scandal? You just want me to take it somewhere else so you can continue to pretend it does not exist.

Do you have standards or not?

Anyway, thread away. I look forward to it. Besides, for all the posting you do, you don't seem to get many flags and/or stars so maybe now would be a good time to get some from your own posted thread.

Are they good for anything? Do they mean something? Other than being popular among other people that think like you, what are they worth?

Please U2U me when you do it/one so I'll be sure not to miss it.

Like I just said.

Let me make it more general. Why is there not equal outrage as this for Wiener, for every representative in that same predicament? Why is it being so specifically aimed?

From where I sit, you cannot stand next to a man that paid hookers to put him in diapers and claim the moral ground to demand Anthony step down for being immoral. So, I must ask. Why do the standards apply so unevenly? Why is the ire so partisan focused?
