What the hell is this crap. Seriously, cops don't get enough protection as it is?

Proposal would allow most fired MPD officers to be paid pending appeal

Milwaukee taxpayers once again would have to pay most fired police officers while they appeal their dismissals under a provision Republicans tucked into the state budget in the wee hours Friday.

"All this bill does is allow the unscrupulous officers we fire for untruthfulness to game the system at taxpayer expense," Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn said. "It is well known that officers in that position delay justice as long as possible, collecting money for no work."

Police officers in Milwaukee are most often fired for lying, according to records. The proposal, passed at 12:30 a.m. Friday, would require taxpayers to continue paying those fired officers.

Yeah lying about beating your butt up.

So let's say a cop breaks your face with his baton, while just before nearly killed you with his car for no reason and gets away with it... Like this guy.

Well if that happened in Milwaukee, the cop would be fired, but he would still get paid while he tries to plead his case to stay on the force for his BS.

Ain't corrupt politicians great?

Why exactly do we have to provide them with a salary for doing absolutely no work AND provide them with a courtroom to defend themselves? And what happens if they motion for an extension on the court date? They just keep getting paid?

Last time I checked, people get fired for much sillier things after breaking their backs for a company, and they are left to their own rations.

These goofs are breaking the system with dishonesty, and all we can do is throw money at them.

INTERESTING! Wasn't it Wisconsin that was so broke (so they claimed) that they could not afford to pay public workers and triggered protests for weeks? As I remember they kept claiming that it wasn't about union busting it was that they were broke. Must not be too broke if they can afford to pay cops after they have been fired. They can't pay people while they work but can pay cops when they don't. The actual worse part of this is that there are so many state lawmakers going along with type of stupidity. It is like watching a yoyo. We can, we can't, we will , we won't. Any wonder why the American people are so angry at our so called leaders. They couldn't lead their way to the nearest bathroom. We should lead them there and while there give them all a flush.

Well they are either getting unemployment, welfare, or still paid while under appeal. Either way it's all tax money so the liberals can quit acting like they actually care.
