Yep...I'd prefer a couple ambiguous pixels that may or may not be something on his forearm in a single frame over a clear picture of his forearm that shows it bare, too, if I were you.
Either way, a couple pixels do not a US SpecOps tattoo make. Even if he did have a tattoo, there's no possible way, in any frame of that video, to tell it's a US SpecOps tattoo. There are more tattoos in the world. I have a tattoo. I'm not US SpecOps. Or am I...?

Syrians protest from rooftops after army action
Women and children in the besieged Syrian city of Deraa chanted "God is greatest against the tyrant" from rooftops in the night after troops backed by tanks intensified a crackdown on the city, a resident said.

Clutching at straws boon...

well it seems now u were grasping at straws.
According to this article update, they were
NOT protesting on the roof, they were taken
to the roof ALIVE and shot there.

Abazeed said members of his group, the Syrian Revolution Coordinators Union, negotiated the purchase of the two videos from a member of the security forces for 200 Syrian pounds ($40 U.S.) and put them on YouTube.

The incident took place in Daraa, which was under siege by Syrian security forces. Four of the men were working out of a mosque in Daraa, supplying food rations to people, the activists said. Two were the sons of Daraa-Abu Ibrahim, the man who calls for the prayers at the mosque; another two were his nephews, the activists said.

Syrian forces marched into the mosque and took the four men, along with a fifth unidentified man, to the roof of a neighboring building, the activists said. The mosque's minaret is visible in the background of the videos. The forces shot the men at point blank range, the activists said.

Members of the security forces took videos themselves, the activists said.

www.cnn.com...

CNN cannot independently confirm the authenticity of the videos.

Two activists with the Syrian opposition explained the incident. One is Abdullah Abazeed, an activist in Daraa, Syria, where the videos were apparently taken. The other activist, who spoke to CNN on condition of anonymity, is in the United States and helps Syrian activists post videos online.

Abazeed said members of his group, the Syrian Revolution Coordinators Union, negotiated the purchase of the two videos from a member of the security forces for 200 Syrian pounds ($40 U.S.) and put them on YouTube.

so there ya go

CNN is not claiming the video that was posted on youtube to be authentic, and they walked to the roof

This was reported a long time ago, but not given any notice. A lot of fake videos, and out of context videos came out from Libya, for example the famous "African Mercenary" reporting which all media outlets reported as facts, but then Human Rights Watch conducted an investigation proving the claims false, the HRW report wasn't reported at all by MSM, because then it would expose war propaganda, which is not the intention of major News outlets.

"In a statement to the Greek newspaper Rizospastis, he said that the videos broadcast by al-Jazeera allegedly from Syria are actually taken from events in other countries." (
Source)

War propaganda has played a major rule in the past 3 wars, if Syria is next, then it wouldn't be surprisings. The thing is that NATO is stuck in Libya, the quagmire they got themselves in could prove to be worse than Afghanistan.

I suspect NATO believed it was much easier to invade Libya through its pawn (the rebels). But Qaddafi's intelligence of war strategy destroyed the original plan.

I don't think NATO was planning to send helicopters, nor was planning to send special ops in the front line. Very disturbing.

When a video is given to a journalist there needs to be simple critical thinking before publishing it as fact.

1. Who recorded the video?

2. What does the video show?

3. How can we confirm anything shown in the video? For example a video apparently showing Syrian soldiers walking around dead bodies, the question is, how can anyone confirm that? Just like the Libyan situation of "African Mercenaries", the media outlets didn't ask the question "how can we confirm it?" rather posted the videos as facts.

4. How can we confirm whether the video is taken out of context or not? I ask this because videos showing soldiers just standing there, then we hear gunfire, then the news outlets automatically assumes the soldiers are shooting at unarmed civilians. That is a giant leap for mankind to make such humongous assumptions.

I have seen many similar types of video, a camera recording the Army just standing around, then you hear shooting, not showing who is shooting who, what is being shot at, where is the shooting coming from, then the reporter thousands of miles away says it was the Soldiers.

This is not journalism, this is clearly agenda based propaganda.

thank you for posting the uncensored link.
It seems as though not everything is as
it appears to be.

Upon further review, it appears these men
were assassinated at point blank range.
Their wounds appear to be consistent with
med caliber weapons and all shot in the head.
It appears they were lined up close together
and assassinated. There was no pool of blood
beneath one man's head meaning he was dead
before he hit the roof or either dragged to his location.

If this turns out to be true, then it is a war crime
on the part of the Syrian government.

thanks to all who have contributed to
the thread. I have changed my stance.

But as a last question, I still want to know
what tattoo was on the forearm of that soldier
with the black hat. There still appears to be
something there IMO.

That's an antenna.
*HUGE FACEPALM*

4 things make that NOT an antenna

1) the angle or azimuth of the array is around 10-15
degrees from horizon making it too low to receive
a satellite signal.

2) Fixed antennas do not have wheels attached
so they can be moved around on the roof for maximum
scope of fire.

3) Antenna arrays do not extend outward in excess
of 6-8 feet away from protection plate and also do
not come in identical pairs (double barrels).

4) These double barrels have muzzle flare
suppressors on the end to help hide the exhaust
fire while they are being fired. It helps hide
their position in a firefight. Antennas do not have
fire suppressors.
