There's a lot of talk in the mainstream media about how Hussein gassed Kurds in northern Iraq, and how about this (supposedly) separates "us" from "him" -- since, by golly, the US Government would never do anything so sinister as gassing its own citizens(!!)

Waco aside, here is some data (pulled from an old 60 Minutes documentary that ran on June 16, 1991) that details the extent to which the U.S. uses chemical weapons on its own citizens. The 60 minutes reference is here:

www.burrellesluce.com...

(*) Roughly 150,000 Americans were deliberately exposed to mustard gas (and other CW) during and after WWII
(*) They were forced to take part in the tests, threatened w/ prison if they refused, and given no followup medical care
(*) Many were given "man-break" doses, i.e., doses designed to expose soldiers to a level of gas that would deliberately cause illness
(*) Statistical correlation was discovered between chronic exposure to mustard gas and cancer (wow! that's a news bulletin!!)
(*) One (classified) report indicated that 4,000 U.S. soldiers suffered serious injuries from these tests

Another documentary ("Bad Trip in Edgewood") describes how 7,000 U.S. troops were exposed to gases and injections w/ no advance warning. Links to this documentary can be obtained here:

www.kcl.ac.uk...
www.propagandamatrix.com...

(*) Powerful mind control drugs like PCP and '___' were used
(*) At least one person, Harold Blauer, died after being given a mescaline derivative

Much of this information is also documented in an Australian documentary, "Keen as Mustard":

Good post mongoose. If you wish to find out more of the US Governments use of US service personnel as guinea pigs have a look at the Deploymentlink website. It details the experiments carried out during the 1960s and early 1970s as part of Project 112/SHAD.

Project 112

Deseret Test Center Project 112 was a Cold war-era chemical and biological warfare test program. This comprehensive program was initiated in 1962 out of concern for our nations ability to protect and defend against these potential threats.

One aspect of Project 112 was known as Shipboard Hazard and Defense, or SHAD. SHAD was composed of test designed to identify U.S. warships vulnerabilities to attacks with chemical or biological warfare agents and to develop procedures to such attacks while maintaining a war-fighting capability. An accompanying article supplies more details of the tests.

Beginning in September 2000, the Department of Defense actively pursued declassification of relevant medical information from all 134 planned chemical and biological tests in Project 112. DoD committed to providing the VA with the medically relevant information it needs to settle benefits claims as quickly and efficiently as possible and evaluate and treat veterans who were involved in those tests. This required analyzing historical documents recording the planning and execution of SHAD tests. DoD has kept the public informed of newly released information and the investigations progress.

The classified information related to SHAD was not completely catalogued or located in one facility. The Deseret Test Center, the organization that ran the tests, was closed in the 1970s. The search for 40-year-old documents and records kept by different military services in different locations was the initial challenge. A separate article offers more details of the investigation.

The accompanying chart details the status of the investigation, dates and other test information that has been released and which planned tests were not conducted. We developed fact sheets for each test that was completely investigated.

The website provides downloads of fact sheets for each set of experiments.

Over here in the UK the Wiltshire Police have been conducting an investigation of the past use of UK Armed Forces in experiments which used mustard gas, nerve agents, incapacitating agents (BZ) and '___'. These experiments were carried out by military scientists from the Chemical Defence Experimental Establishment Porton Down. The Wiltshire Police investigation is codenamed Operation ANTLER.

In 1953, National Serviceman Ronald Maddison underwent a Sarin nerve agent experiment at CDEE Porton Down and died. The 1953 Inquest, which was held in secret, gave the cause of death as misadventure, but recently the verdict was quashed and a new inquest is ongoing. You can follow the inquest on the Wiltshire Police website or click here

Details of Operation Antler can be found here

Anyone interested in the UK use of the Armed Forces as guinea pigs will find Guardian journalist Rob Evans book [url=Good post mongoose. It details the many UK Chemical Warfare experiments carried out during the Cold War at Porton Down. It also has a chapter on the Biological Warfare experiments carried out in public areas of the UK between 1953-1975.

I've been reading tests conducted by plane... Especially the vx nerve agent they disemented in the hawaiian islands... They do alot of tests in utah I've noticed..
This is really scary stuff... There have been many tests done where they release chemicals from planes, so who's really to say that chemtrails don't exist...
From reading many of those tests I have no other reasons to believe that they don't do that... Sick...

Check out this thread TrueLies.

It is about the aircraft that was used by the UK Microbiological Research Establishment Porton Down as a "Germ Warfare" aircraft.
This aircraft, Canberra WV787, sprayed massive quantities of two types of live bacteria over Dorset UK during the late 1960s.

The thing that comes to my mind when you say U.S. terrorizing its own citizens is when U.S. sent soldiers to places where nukes have been exploded just to study the effects of radiation during the cold war years.

If they need to test somebody, why don't they use a monkey, not an inocent being. If the personelle does wish to do this he should be paid a large amount and recognized for his dairing feat.

We are quick to point our fingers at other countries for these types of terrible crimes, yet it has happened and probably still happens in the USA today.

I don't know about these small crimes happening today, but certainly some big ones are.
