Reagan outspent the Soviet union and brought the Berlin Wall down as a result. I don't think that and spending money on unconstitutional healthcare overhauls and bailing out banks is a good comparison.

May I pretend that makes sense. You are saying that our tax dollars are better spent bringing peace to other countries than healthcare to our own people? That sure sounds like foreign entanglements to me.

It isn't the market dictating lower wages, it corporate manipulation through illegal immigrants, and down right bloody murder in third world countries to keep the people poor.

Put immigration back under control, stop allowing China to manipulate its currency in its favor, just another form of trade barrier, and the high wages will come back.

When the market is functioning naturally, wages come up. Markets work better with higher wages.

See what I said earlier about Germany and S Korea.

So laugh! Gleefully enjoy the "gouging" that the rich will feel.
It'll only last as long as it takes to raise prices.

Now that a grown-up has explained things, you kids can go out and play now.

Haha! "Don't tax daddy, he will get mad and punish us!"
How about we all chip in and make sure no rich person ever has to pay taxes. Imagine how much cheaper they will sell their products to us if they got even better refunds. Sounds like you want many people to be poor so stuff can stay cheap compared to the alternative of people being prosperous and then paying a fair price for goods.

Our government (in our name) owes more money than there is cash on earth. No amount of raising taxes will get us out of the hole we are in. No amount of spending cuts are possible without breaking a lot of contracts will get the current spending requirements to a non deficit position. So the best solution to raise revenue is through increasing the GDP. IE get Americans back to work making REAL wealth. Taxing folks and creating government jobs is not REAL wealth, it is socialism and makes the problem worse.

If our politicians are serious about fixing the economy and serious about the deficit, they would cut the red tape on business and quit hiding behind global warming, the environment, etc etc etc.

Sorry if this was already covered, but I did not have time to read 13 pages of why taxing the rich is good or we need to cut grandma's check etc etc etc

To bad we don't have the Rich people investing. They be buying the 69,000,000 million dollar homes. While Americans losing their homes.

I should frame that and put it on the wall.

It would be good for a laugh every time i see it.

Instead of truncated what the poster actually said and then tossing an empty attack at the new edit, how about you just explain what was actually faulty with what was said. I am referring to the entire statement though, not where you cut it.

Maybe you are right. Maybe not. At the moment all I have to go on is that someone made a statement that makes sense, you cut it in half and laughed at it. I would genuinely enjoy hearing you actual refutation.

If all their customers are having a hard time surviving (actually), how are those people going to stay in business?

We will send them money in the form of tax refunds, rebates, etc and help them invest in something overseas in order to stay in business and show a profit. That is what we have been doing so far. Look at all the jobs and wealth it has created.

Take off them liberal blinders and look around. GE getting more back in taxes than I will earn my entire life has improved my life countless ways. They invested all that money into making cheaper tvs in China so even though I am poor, I can buy a flat screen, live like a king, and help poor GE survive. After all, someone has to help. The rich are "under attack" and "barely surviving" and even being forced to flee the country. I am more than willing to trade places with them and see if maybe I am not tough enough to just deal with being rich in America. I think I could actually handle that burden.

No. You have to have jobs that need to be filled to employ people. Can you explain your thinking to me? If the government handed me 10 Million dollars tomorrow. I would be rich. Now what reason is there for me to use one cent to create one job with my money?

Now, lets say I am already a job creator and tomorrow, the government hands me 10 Mill. Again, where is my reason to hire people with that money?

No one creates jobs because they have too much money sitting around. Jobs are created because the business models needs them. No customers = no reason to employ people to take care of those no customers. What you are advocating is my tax dollars going to help some CEO keep his doors open, even though his customer base is falling. Can't get much more socialist than that.

if someone handed you a 10 million dollar check your not a millionaire

all that means is that you have 10 million dollars.

and the facts are it takes money to run any business and employ people it also takes more money to keep and maintain that business.

so out of that 10 million dollars your spending 9 million dollars just to maintain it and materials and salaries and regulations and overhead continue to increase that last million dollars gets eaten up pretty fast.

of course that is dependent upon what the market dictates and someone then decides to raise your taxes then thats all she wrote.

you would think that but in this day and age unless you have banked several hundred million

the interest paid of a mere 10 million is a straight up joke.

stocks bonds, mutals, money markets even high yeild checking and saving pay squat.

now back in the day when the dollar had more value and gold was at 325 an ounce and you decided to sell at todays prices

you would be well off.

and 10 million is what i consider to be well off the cost of living and housing and prices of consumer goods eat up that interest real fast.

you would need an income producing over a million dollars or more that is if some dumb a doesnt decide to raise your taxes because the more fortunate could and should pay more.

edited to add silly me i forgot that you automatically lose 5 million of that 10 million between state and federal taxes.

thats the way the cookie crumbles.

Here's my thing. Rich people already pay more taxes than most. Why punish someone because they are doing well? This isn't socialism, at least it's not supposed to be. Someone who is making less money will always be paying less taxes, because there is less money to tax.

Let's stop looking at raising taxes as a solution to everything. How many more taxes do we need? Idiots of the White House, lets address the real issue. Stop spending money that you do not have! Stop devaluing our dollar with all this ridiculous debt! Stop favoring big greedy corporations that rape and pillage the people! Stop putting legislation in place that gets in the way of production, and makes it harder to rebuild our job market and our country!

Did you know that our FDA wasted our tax dollars on a one year operation to bust an Amish farmer for selling fresh milk? This is only one ridiculous story, there is a growing number of stories like this. Our tax money is being wasted on squashing the American citizen, not rebuilding America. We're supposedly out fighting a war on terror, running up the debt, while our own government is terrorizing its people. And, we're spreading Democracy? I'm off topic a bit, but it's related.

We need to salvage this nation, because what we have is certainly not freedom. Obama, and anyone in the White House that is not there to preserve freedom and the longevity of our country, you need to be scrubbed from the White House, so we can have some people with sanity replace you.

That's how we handle this debt, with sane people in office.

Is this what you do? Troll threads, building straw men so you can feel superior winning arguments that only exist in your own head? I said I would be "rich." I am not even sure why you would make up an argument like this just to fail at it but thanks.

all that means is that you have 10 million dollars.

Which would mean I would be a

mil·lion·aire   /ˌmɪlyəˈnɛər/ Show Spelled
[mil-yuh-nair] Show IPA

–noun
1. a person whose wealth amounts to a million or more in some unit of currency, as dollars.
2. any very rich person.

Why did you even bother with that?

and the facts are it takes money to run any business and employ people it also takes more money to keep and maintain that business.

Yep.

so out of that 10 million dollars your spending 9 million dollars just to maintain it and materials and salaries and regulations and overhead continue to increase that last million dollars gets eaten up pretty fast.

So full of strawmen. I would not be spending 9 million dollars "just to" do anything. I would be enjoying it. I have no need to go start a company or create new jobs just because I have an extra 10 Million. I am going to spend it on me and enjoy it.

of course that is dependent upon what the market dictates and someone then decides to raise your taxes then thats all she wrote.

I do not even know what you think you refuted but it was nothing I wrote in this thread. All you did was prove you cannot handle a dictionary.

Exactly. I can blow it all on myself. I can save it. I can invest it. Or I can use it to hire a bunch of people I do not need.

Hmmm. Tough call.

I am not sure where Neo has worked or studied economics but I want to find these companies that hire people just because they have more money to hire people with regardless of the fact that there is no increase in business, need, or actual revenue.

So that 10 Million dollar figure I made up in the form of a Tax refund is now going to be taxed? When did that happen? Oh, you had to alter my scenario to shoehorn in your argument. I get it. Go back to my original argument and pay attention this time. The premise was a gift of 10 Million in the form of Tax refunds because you know, me paying less in taxes will mean I will create jobs. So I made up a tax refund number and now you are making up rules for it.
I thought you missed the point. I guess you missed everything.

Have some numbers because I know that 10% of 1000 dollars is more than 100% of 10 dollars but I am sure that is not what you meant.

wow thats the first time i ever heard that on this site.

a millionaire doesnt mean what it use to the popular misconception is your definition.

anyone making a million dollars in this country today looses half that in taxes then the rest with the cost of living whereever they live.

really to parrot why did you bother as well?

thats hilarious i could give anyone 10 million dollars right now and within 24 hours to a week they would be dead broke

you think so but the reality is quite different big words and small minds and no thought of the real their real life meanings.
