Didn't we have this argument months ago???
Raising taxes during a recession is BAD.
------------------------------------------------------------
See video below:
- Obama Draws Line in Sand -

The latest numbers on the U.S. economy are terrible.
Unemployment is up to 9.1%.
Growth is slowing! So here we have this nitwit drawing a line in the sand.
Lets raise taxes and just see what happens.

Are we going to have to use the same analogies about digging faster and deeper when we're in a hole?
Hear the same old "tax the rich" tirades from the left?

Sounds like my eight year old when he argues that having a pepsi at bedtime will help him sleep!

The american public has elected idiots!

Please Mr. Obama.... Make it a big line in the Sand and then go out and run your mouth to all of us out here how good RAISING taxes is for us.

Don't say a thing about cutting spending, reducing welfare and educational spending. Nothing about the staggering Fuel Prices.

All Good in ObamaLand..... raise those taxes so I can Spend, Spend, Spend.... Suckers!!!

Yes, do this now.... The only thing I can figure is that he knows he is most likely a One Termer so he has to forward the liberal/democratic agenda. Like carrying a flag in battle ....

Gonna be one hell of an election year in 2012.

Remember months ago?
Obama had that town hall meeting and a woman stood up and asked a simple question.
"Is it a good idea to raise taxes during a recession?"
----------------------------------
Instead of a simple answer "No.", we got this long boring speech about a house
with a roof. There is hole in the roof. It starts raining.....blah, blah, blah.

---------------------------------
We need to get this guy out of the White House ASAP.
-------------------------------
With a protest vote, anybody could beat Obama.

From a post I just made in a similar topic regarding taxes:

Only a combination of spending cuts and increased revenue will decrease the debt in any noticeable way. Just gutting medicare/medicaid and social security won't help, even if there are defense spending cuts. Taxes for the ultra rich are at record lows, and corporate socialism (like GE paying NO taxes on billions in income) is hurting federal finances. Cut spending, including defense, and raise taxes to where they were in the (highly prosperous) 1990s if you want to fix the debt.

classwarfare is stupid.

obama is stupid.

you have to remember the end goal of the democrats the socialist uptopia where there are no rich there is no middle class there is only one class the poor because everything he has done and wants to do drives everyone in the poor house.

you have to remember if people can take care of themselves government is not needed and there is no way in hell they will ever allow that to happen.

thats why the war against the rich and those actions destroy the people and money who give jobs and money to the middle class.

i draw a line in the sand to obama shut the hell up and resign you fascist idiot.

The country needs Obama's tax plan, and the Republican's spending cuts. It will take both to even begin to make a dent!

We need to swallow the hard pills! ** No debt ceiling increase. ** No extension on tax cuts. **Deep, deep spending cuts. And let the chips fall where they may.

We cannot dig ourselves out of this hole, we just keep getting deeper and deeper! At this point, it is time to cut our losses, ride out the depression, and emerge victorious on the other side.

I don't know. The republicans are putting out one of the worst fields of candidates I think i've ever seen. There top guy made a health care law and flip-flops on half the issues depending on what he thinks people want to hear.

It should be a walk in the park to get Obama out but right now I'd say it's only a 50-50 chance.

the hardest pill to take is finally making the other half of this country start paying taxes.

any income has to be taxed no more free rides to the poor or the rich.

a fair tax for all or a tax for none.

I agree.

I say a flat 15% on all income above $10k per dependent. For a family of 4, that means no tax up to $40,000 and 15% after that.

No deductions, no credits, no loopholes, just a flat tax on all income above $10k per person.

I posted something similar in another thread with a tax calculator. This actually reduces the normal tax load for most of the middle class, while bringing in more revenue for the federal government, and simplifying all the tax processing therefore reducing expenditure on IRS issues and audits!

I would also support a National Sales tax or "consumption" tax as some call it. This would tax the people spending the most money, and would reward the people who live moderately and spend less!

Realistically, they will raise the debt ceiling.
Any cuts they make will be "token" sacrafices at best.
But they will raise taxes with impunity.

Mark my words...

1.) There will be a debt ceiling increase.
2.) Taxes will go up.

But neither of these will be due to Obama. It is Congress. Do not forget that fact. Obama may like to think that it is up to him but it is not. Congress. Congress is where you should be directing your ire.

Well, if you check the current GDP numbers you will see the GDP at around $14.7 Trillion.
----------------------------
There is room for a band aid. Raise the debt limit to $14.6 Trillion.
That would give Obama time to erase his line in the sand and make a speed call to
President Bill Clinton.....Help!!!!

Congress should be the target but blaming Obama

is more entertaining to most folks.

If the unemployment rate goes over 10% the American people will throw their hands in
the air and demand - change -. Bye - bye Obama the socialist. Welcome to the White House
President Sarah Palin the capitalist.

3) The size of the U.S. Government will be...............................reduced.
----------------------------
There is duplication everywhere. For crying out loud - Fire a few thousand - sitting around
doing the same thing as the agency down the street.
It will take a republican in the White House to do it.
