Doh, what you you all thinking?

It's not "specifically" the number 12, there's more to it all than just "12."

89 = 8*9 + 8+9

89 = 9+8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9

289-1 = 618970019642690137449562111

89 is a common octane rating for gasoline in the United States

Do you see a pattern emerging?

1.640899227806594746556550098107e-44
1.640899227806594746556550098107e+2048

89+89=178 average wt. of male human
72+72=144 average wt. of female human
178+144=322

From 0 to 9, there is no 10; the old Abacus is a great example. The "0" serves at the "golden-knot." Yes, of course, there are the Base Mathematics; Binary, Trinary, and so on. In Binary, you don't need a "10" because any number to the "0" power is always 1.

Ponder on these sayings a time, times, and half a time.

And here's the kicker:

Jean-claude Perez suggests: "each cycle of the DNA molecule measures 34 angstoms long by 21 angstroms wide. 34 and 21 are fibonacci numbers," ... and "there is a strong link between DNA and golden ratio."

Source for above paragraph: creationwiki.org...

Take it with a grain of salt, if you wish, but the inference is fascinating, nonetheless.

if you like this, you should look into the esoteric meaning of the number 12. when i say "meaning", i mean "meanings", as in esoteric wisdom all metaphors and symbols are multilevelled.

Your journey will teach you why 12 is so important, and why you see it so often. Manly Hall's "The Secret Teachings Of All Ages", free on the internet, is a great place to start. You will learn a little about all the numbers, as well as a great primer on other esoteric teachings.

When you look at the numbe 12 it has alot of significance, its a composite number, the smallest number with exactly six divisors, its proper divisors being 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 12. Twelve is also a highly composite number, the next one being 24 . ok lets look at some things----

12 were apostles of Christ.
12 months for a baby to be one
12 hours on a clock alos 12 +12 = 24 hours in a day 365 days= 1 year, so there are 12 months in 1 year
the letter TWELVE has 6 letters 6+6= 12
In astrology, there are 12 signs in the Zodiac
December, the 12th month of a year
There are normally twelve pairs of ribs in the human body
Twelve people have walked on Earth's moon.
There are 12 in a dozen.

There are twenty-four hours in a day in all, with twelve hours for a half a day. The hours are numbered from one to twelve for both the ante meridiem (a.m.) half of the day and the post meridiem (p.m.) half of the day. 12:00 after a.m. and before p.m. (in the middle of the day) is midday or noon, and 12:00 after p.m. and before a.m. (in the middle of the night) is midnight. A new day is considered to start with the stroke of midnight. Furthermore, the basic units of time (60 seconds, 60 minutes, 24 hours) can all perfectly divide by twelve

The importance of 12 in Judaism and Christianity can be found in the Bible. The biblical Jacob had 12 sons, who were the progenitors of the Twelve Tribes of Israel, while the New Testament describes twelve apostles of Jesus; when Judas Iscariot was disgraced, a meeting was held (Acts) to add Matthias to complete the number twelve once more.

so i guess when we try to do research just take a look at 12 the number and what a great
significance it has maybe something will happen in 2012

anyone else have some cool 12 facts

Interesting, but December was initially the tenth month of the year

This was probably mentioned, but

60 divided by 5 = 12
24 divided by 2 = 12

60 seconds
60 minutes
24 hours

5+5+2=12.

Doing random math and reversing letters while reading is an...odd habit of mine.

I believe that our time-keeping and its relationship to the # 12 is linked to the number 4 and the fact that 4 is one of divisors of 12.

Oh, and the moon. 4 phases of the moon make up a month ( I know, not perfectly), each phase gives us our week and 12 months make up a solar year (again, not perfect, but that's what it is all based on).

The reason 12 is important has to do with it being related so intimately with 1,2,3,4, and 6. As well, its relation to 72 (Christians know this as the tetragrammaton) makes it an important number.

As well, the fact that it contains both 1 and 2 (monad and duad, the Godhead), and can be reduced to 3 (the trinity, which means more than the simple Christian concept, which is fairly deep itself when viewed esoterically).

12 is second only to 72 (some would say it is equal or greater).

There are also supposed to be 12 strands of DNA that correspond to the 12 chakras.

Due to genetic modification humans only have 2, which correspond to the root and sacral chakra.

That's why all we do is worry about sex (attention) and security (approval).

Such a shame.

interesting.

What are the 12 chakras?

What are their purpose?

Yes, I agree with your last post.

Also, I recently downloaded "The Secret Teachings of All Ages" to my Kindle, haven't had time to read it yet, but plan to soon.

Twelve is a 6 base. not a "12" base. And 6 is a "3" BASE. So it falls back to actually the significance of "3" > Twelve is considered a Master number in numerology. Along with 11 and 10.

We are discussing Babylonian mathematics.

This is a field all to itself, and our current world including computer science, is based upon Babylonian math and their sexagesimal system.

This is a fascinating subject, and would urge anyone interested in this to study the ancient Babylonian systems.
