Being Gay is a Gift from God

Well I have checked back into this post since my last responses and it seems no one can really explain why different sexual perferences are wrong without religion or mental illness. I was anxiously awaiting a response but it seems I have made too many undebateable points. Once you put the whole homosexuality issue in context of the entire history of man kind it really takes on a whole different nature doesn't it?
Most people will probably agree with me that this is just one point in our evolutionary process and at some point there will be another group perscuted.

The ignorant wouldn't even accept scientific evidence they seem to think that their weak interpretations of the bible are even relevant, lol. It's funny how much of a joke people like you have become. Once your generation is gone, this homophobic mental illness that you have will die down to a murmur considering this current generation understands it better because they've given knowing gays and lesbians a chance. So sorry your sheltered life has lead to something so repulsive to the rest of the world that people are running away from your religion in droves, because the gay issue isn't the only issue with your screwed up beliefs. This has nothing to do with the bible and how black your soul is viewed to others in this world.

EXACTLY! There was another thread where someone was quoting the bible, and presenting as fact, while they were saying science as a whole is basically just a theory.

It doesn't even make sense. I'm so glad I'm in reality.

I am gay. If I could, please allow me to address a few things.

I did not choose it. If I could have chosen my sexuality, why would I have gone with the one that makes it impossibly hard for me to find a partner where I live? Why would I have chosen to be hated by millions and millions of people that don't even know me? I hate it. Not being gay, but being subjected to anonymous hatred every freaking day. If I had a choice, I would be straight.

I have been attracted to other boys/men since as early as I can remember. My first crush was in the first grade. Most of my friends are straight males. I do not care for fashion or interior design or glitter or anything else we get associated with. I have never and will never cross dress. I enjoy studying math and I want to teach it for a living. I have an immense fascination with the universe and physics. I want a house, a husband, and 1-2 adopted children. Is that so immoral?

I believe in a god, but not the god of the Bible. To avoid offending some people, I won't specifically state how I feel about religion. But being a "good Christian" should be about doing the right thing, even when it's difficult or inconvenient - not about being a Sunday regular and hating people the Bible calls sinners.

Is being gay a gift from God? I'm not sure. That would depend on your idea of a gift. If everything down to the color of your hair is a gift from God, then sure, I suppose this is, too. But if gifts from God are only the particularly good things we have been blessed with, then I'm not sure it is. I like being attracted to people who are similar to me - it makes it easier to connect with the person. But the social condemnation of it is a terrible weight to bear, and it is for this reason that gay teenagers are several times more likely to kill themselves. Is that a blessing?

Please, if you have any questions at all about what it is to be gay, ask! I'm happy to help answer if I can. Most intolerance comes from ignorance. If there's something you don't understand that you'd like to have answered, then shoot. If you don't like gay people that's fine. Why, though?

I find it extremely offensive that you compare me with alcoholics and drug addicts. I cause no harm to anyone.

Your logic is non-existent. "Why would....(insert anything anyone does here)" doesn't prove anything.

I wish I could have an actual conversation with someone who is anti-homosexual that would actually include some form of logic. Even if it was "I just don't like it and it makes me uncomfortable."

well they could be referring to the "gay" lifestyle, there is definitely wrong with how they engage in sex. It has nothing to do with the man on man action, and more to do with the orgies, the bathhouses, the damned drag queens who cannot just accept what god gave them (feel however you like but I think it's sick when the obsession proceeds to self-mutilation), the lack of morals when it comes to being faithful to others.

I don't like the gay community I think it's a horrible influence on people that believe in monogamy and loving relationships. I don't believe in their indoctrination of folk by mentally crushing their beliefs regarding this because 99.9% of all gay men are nothing but premiscous asshole liars who'll do anything to get laid (ten times worse than any situation involving a straight relationship). I am gay but I positively hate gay culture, no wonder these bible thumpers can't give us a damned break, it's because most gay people are wretched pigs and this is the face of gay that they all get to see..

There are more invisible gays who keep to themselves because they aren't interested in anything the visible gay community offers, it is a total crock, almost nobody's got the balls to actually be upstanding people, but it is a little hard to have faith in what appears to be a totally morally bankrupt society (even the rest of society is morally bankrupt in my books).

Looking on both sides of the fence I can see why there is such a great divide. It's because the invisible part of gay culture doesn't decide to take their place, it's all the freaks running the show --> go figure a microcausm of society as a whole!

I don't believe in the Bible or the Christian god. But for people that do, sorry, but it really does condemn homosexuality.

I wholeheartedly disagree with this verse in the Bible, but some denominations are comfortable with spinning and/or dismissing this part of the Bible.

Your opinion disgusts me. Its people like you who are causing harm, not an individual's sexuality.

Why do theists continue believing? Do they know it's harmful? Do they know that they are causing pain to innocent people by preaching their hateful filth?

Regarding the Bible , i believe it's in Genisis where God and Abram have a chat . God said , if your people will worship me i will give you all the lands of Cannen and as a sign of our deal you'll give me your foreskins in honor . The Jews said , what a great deal , a vacant desert for the skin of my pecker . Sorry God , i don't want Cannen and i don't much care for your 'prophets' who said that anyone unlike me is evil . You're not getting my foreskin and i have two lesbians that live right beside me in the next house and they are great neighbors . They own the home and have been together for years and just because some uneducated goat herder that talked to burning bushes 3,000 years ago didn't like them , his opinion has zero effect on me and shouldn't have any effect on my neighbors . Having said that i also believe that the church with the billboard is pandering to a specific segment to build the congregation and get the cash before the Roman Catholics change their minds and start offering gay bingo .
