So in the simplest possible terms, you can preach all day about how this is a ‘Christian nation’ (which it’s not as the founding fathers were
pretty outspoken against religion) and talk about homosexuality is tearing our country apart but the facts are that Intolerance on both sides are what
is harming this country; not people expressing the love they have for each other.
My views on Gay Marriage: while I can understand the believer standpoint, I do not support; however I will not insult those that do simply because
they have faith in something I do not.
I will though implore them to head their own scripture.
“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.
Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let
me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will
see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.
There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?
As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person
eats only vegetables. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for
God has welcomed him. Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be
upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand. One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one
should be fully convinced in his own mind. ...
So like I said, I do not dislike Christians for their beliefs as I like to think they accept me for mine; because in reality god or not the only
thing that will make this world a better place is to become more tolerant of each other and realize that our differences in life are minimal.
Be you atheist, Muslim, Christian, pagan, agnostic, homosexual it does not matter we all want to be loved and accepted for who we are, we all want
happiness, we all feel pain, and WE ALL make mistakes.
p.s Let’s keep this civil please
