Most gay males have been sexually abused.

Care to support that with proof? Need more then just your word.

Thanks in advance.

I am surprised that in the 21st century there are still bigots roaming aroound.

Is being 'gay' a choice imho no..I recently went to a gay wedding, one half of identical male twins decided to wed his long time partner, his brother is straight, married with children.
If my friend had a choice he would have chosen the life of his brother because of acceptance.

How many on here.... watch porn, have sex outside marriage, masturbate, get on the bus free download illegally etc.......judge others.

We are all sinners according to the Bible that is why Jesus came into the world, is one mans sin greater than anothers in the eyes of God, from what I have read the answer is no.

As someone who believes Jesus came here to show us the best way, yet essentially a Bhuddhist, have no time to judge others as much needs sorting out in my own shell.

Live and let live I say there is far too much prejudice in the world.

I feel that people who are gay have no choice,
just like you have no choice of being a male or a female,
it is something that you are born with.

In saying that I feel homosexuality is a disease / disability
just like being born with a hair lip or club foot.

I know this puts gay people into a rage to hear,
but in my opinion the perfect human state
in regards to sexuality is heterosexual.

What if you were gay before the bible was written? Are you "grandfathered" in to Heaven? Was God like "hey what's up with all these guys coming up here and wanting to go shopping. No one wants to hang out and drink beer"

Are you heterosexual? If so, why?

I am not. Refer to my post on Page 5 if you want to see my stance on the matter.

I read your post there and I completely understand how you feel. You sound like a logical thinker, and can interpret your feelings. Don't let either side influence you. Don't start going to gay bars every night because you think you need to enforce your feelings. Don't go running around to straight bars either trying to pick up the a few broads to enforce some need to be mainstream either. Just be you and don't be ashamed of it, and if you end up accepting it one way or the other, there is still no obligation to you to announce it or throw it in peoples faces, just a need to continue to be you and happy with yourself.
I understand your rage at these posts, since it only makes a personal, deep issue for a person without adding more questions they need to ask in the search for who they are.
We question ourselves for everything we do and thats what leads us to mental illnesses. We don't need to complicate the matter any more and start influencing peoples choices, which is what alot of people seem to accuse people of when it comes to matters of homosexuality.

So a perfect human is heterosexual among other attributes? To perfect is to end. After perfection there is nothing else. Heterosexuals procreate. That in a sense is a new beginning. I'm just failing to understand your logic. Once something is perfect... Evolution stops. Show me a perfect human.

I believe perfection does not exist only 2 extremes. The balance of those 2 extremes is what is ideal becasue it creates a calmness and peace. So with that being said bisexuality would be perfection then.
Of course this is just my opionion.

Yes it is a sin. No-one is born gay. Being gay is a choice.

Why would anyone choose to be gay.
Seems to me, if the bible was right and considering all the persecution that exists there is no upside to being gay: therefore, why would anyone choose to be gay?

edit: on the billboard itself, it's likely they see all obstacles as gifts from god. Gay thoughts are just another obstacle to some religious folk.

"perfect human state in regards to sexuality is heterosexual"

not simply perfect human state.

And you cemented my logic with "Heterosexuals procreate". Thank you.

Something a lot of people seem to gloss over with the whole "gay=sin" arguement is that it is not our place to make that determination. I was raised as a christian but quit going to church many years ago. I of course used to believe that all gays would burn in eternal fire. I'm older now and have a bit more perpective. I'm not even sure I believe in the christian definition of God, but I do believe there's is something more to life than what we see with our mortal eyes. Is homosexuality wrong? I have no idea, it's wrong for me, but that doesn't mean it's wrong for everyone. If being gay is what someone needs to be happy who am I tell tell them they are wrong, broken or deviant? If there is a God and a Heaven (and I believe there is in some form, just not what people are expecting) it will all get sorted out when we leave this mortal plane. Till then, live your life as you see fit, as long as it doesn't keep others from doing the same. Oh, and "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". If there's anything in the Bible worth living by, it's that.

Why do addicts continue using? Why would alcoholics continue drinking? Do they know it's harmful?

Because addicts cannot choose to not be attracted to alcohol or drug. Addiction is not a choice, in a way similar to sexual orientation. One can choose to act on the attraction/addiction, just like one can choose to have gay sex or not. But the feeling of attraction itself is beyond conscious control. And it is the feeling of attraction that defines being gay. As far as I know, when one is addicted to alcohol or some other drug, it is for life, and they should not touch it at all because they could awaken the repressed urges easily. So you may have a point, addiction and sexual attraction are both controlled by similar subconscious mechanisms. It is the conscious choice to act on it or indulge in the thoughts where responsibility, and thus being a sin according to christians in case of homosexual behaviour, comes in, not the state of being homosexual (=attracted to same sex) itself.

WRONG. Personally for me its more then physical attraction. I dont think any of us should hold back feelings because of gender. My sexuality or ANYONE'S sexuality isn't a choice. To me at least, its more then physical attraction.

sexuality is more about who a person feels emotionally, mentally, spiritually and psyhically attracted to. Just being attracted to someone pyshically makes it more lust than an actual connection. For me being lesbian is more about connecting with a woman more on multiple levels.
Men are good as friends for me I get along with them great but I just can't falling in love with them.

I do not feel that homosexuality is a perversion any more than left-handedness is a perversion of hand movement. It is *different,* yes, but not necessarily wrong. We do not seek to push anything on anybody. We can't make you accept us. We're not trying to shove glitter down your throat.

All we want is to have the same rights as straight people, so we do what we can to generate support for that. And there has been a recent movement to put positive, gay story lines in the entertainment industry so that young, gay people do not have to feel like they are alone. It wasn't until I was in high school that I started to feel like I wasn't some kind of #ed up, one-in-a-million weirdo.

Also, in reference to the suggestion that most gay people have been subjected to abuse or come from bad homes - I was never sexually abused, and I have had a wonderful upbringing with a great relationship with both of my parents.

Thank you for the warm welcome!

Those are some excellent points.
I cannot elp but believe that nobody is born gay. However, when exposed to a homosexual or pedophilic environment, the child, growing up, would have gay tendencies embedded in their unconscious. They will say they were born gay.

But then again, it is anybody's choice. I believe that it should be discouraged, but not banned or segregated against.

Exactly....and this is where the original confusion came about for me, as I entered into ages which these things started to become apparent to me. Am I supposed to like this girl that obviously likes me? How do I know that I don't actually feel anything towards her? Is it the wrong girl? Why isn't there a girl or girls that make me feel this way like HE does? Why do I feel like this? Is this how men and woman really feel? Should I ask someone? Will they think its weird if I ask that? Did they ever feel this way? Should I see what happens with that guy? Wait, does he feel that way? How do I know?.....Needless to say the list goes on.

As much as people say its not about choice there are choices that inevitably pop up when we are exploring who we are. If I were straight, would I have as many questions when I was coming into that age if the feelings werent so conflicting with what I saw the majority around me doing? Is this what people confuse with choice? I didnt choose the feelings I had, but I did choose not to ignore them.
