My MOS requires me to man an M240-H, I carry an M9 and am qualified expert in both.
My MOS and many 15 series MOSs deal with air to ground weaponry, DART missions which put us in direct contact with the enemy, and air support missions
of ground forces that put us in direct contact with enemy forces. You'd be surprised how many of us have CABs on our chest.
15 T, my MOS, is not just a maintenance MOS, I'm a Blackhawk crew chief in an Air Assault unit. While it isn't considered combat arms, combat roles
are essential to our job. We get quite a bit of trigger time. I'm trained in aerial gunnery, ground gunnery, and enemy suppression tactics. I'm a
soldier through and through guy, maybe not as HOOAH! as you 11x or cav scouts, but I get my fair share of it.
My personal experience and research techniques is what I bring to the table. My job isn't to know it all, it is to facilitate research and discussion
on the subject of weapons and tactics. Adding your experience would certainly be beneficial to this forum and I would greatly appreciate any input you
have on the matter.
