Help me identify this animal. I am assuming this is a skull, but not very sure. It was found on the coast of St. George Island in Florida. A friend of my Aunt found it. She frequents the island often and he forwarded her this picture. I believe he fishes there frequently and found this on the beach. He had no idea what it was. I'm not sure what he did with the specimen as I don't have a lot of the story.




It appears to be rather small, maybe a couple of inches long. I have not seen anything like it. Unfortunately, this is the only photo I have of it.

I would go for fish, in my uninformed opinion.

However, Alien torso would be next on the list

Nevermind I can't read call it a brain fart. I would say maybe skate, or manatee as suggested.

It's probably from a manatee, it is florida afterall

After taking a look at some manatee skulls I can say it is def not a manatee. Maybe go with the one someone else found.

I concur with seagull pelvis. I think it is displayed upside down though...Just type in seagull pelvis in Google images, as there are some there, and you can note the similarities. Very nice on identifying that btw.
