180+ died in my city that day, including people I knew. I've lived thru two 7.1 quakes yet the 6.3 on Feb 22nd was by far the worse. Feels like the whole world is turning upside down.

For the 6.3, wasn't Christchurch RIGHT on the epicenter?

Being from So Cal, I've been through a number of EQs up to 7+ too. But the scariest was a 3.9, lol! We were less than 1 mile from the epicenter. It lasted only a few seconds, but it was like a giant jackhammer was going off. Violent.

My buddy was right on the epicenter for the Northridge quake, which had some of the worst vertical groundshake ever recorded. He said he woke up in mid air above his bed!!
