A new book by a veterans group that comes out on August 14, 2004 will blast Presidential candidate John Kerry's combat record. The book is a direct attack on Kerry's character and ability to make wise leadership choices. In the book Kerry is accused of killing an unarmed fleeing teenager, and burning a village and killing it's animals like a pirate. The book's author, John O'Neill, took over command of a boat after Kerry, and discussed Kerry's actions with members who had served under him. A spokesman for Kerry's campaign has said the book was just digging for trash.

Drudge Report - VETS CHARGE: KERRY KILLED FLEEING TEEN; LIED FOR MEDAL
A veterans group seeking to deeply discredit Democrat John Kerry's military service will charge in the new bombshell book UNFIT FOR COMMAND:

"Kerry earned his Silver Star by killing a lone, fleeing, teenage Viet Cong in a loincloth."

"And if Kerry's superiors had known the truth at the time, they would never have recommended him for the medal."

The book also claims to detail how Kerry personally ordered the slaughter of small animals at a small hamlet along the Song Bo De River.

Who exactly is telling the truth in this situation? Is Kerry a war hero, as his medals suggest, or did he earn them through lying a deceit? The timing of the release of this book has to be questioned. It fits perfectly in between the Democratic and Republican national conventions, and plays right into the hands of the Republican party. Still Kerry will now have to spend more time explaining his actions, and less focusing on the issues that he would like.

An organization calling itself The Swift Boat Vets for Truth is also sponsoring a new television commercial that has quotes from members who served under John Kerry. This is an ironic twist on John Edwards words, "If you have any question about what John Kerry's made of, just spend three minutes with the men who served with him. ..." The television commercial starts off with the words "Here's what those men think about John Kerry," Only two of the 20 officers in the Vietnam photo with John Kerry say they support him and have called for John Kerry to stop using the photo.

Hmmmm. Wasn't it John Edwards who said, "... if you want to know about John Kerry, ask the people who served with him"?

Yes! and that's how they start off the commercial. I had to laugh when I saw them using their own words against them.

None of the men in the ad served on the same boat with John Kerry. Only one member of the group Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, Steven Gardner, served on the same boat with Kerry. The rest of Kerry's shipmates, about ten, support him and make positive statements about his military service.

The leader of the Swift Boat Veterans group, John O'Neill, arrived in Viet Nam two months after Kerry left. O'Neill has no first-hand knowledge of Kerry's military service.

It's almost funny. Here people are arguing about Kerry's war record, because he went to a war zone, Vietnam.

GW Bush was AWOL in ALABAMA, and was a DESERTER.

Chicken George to the rescue. Cluck, Cluck, Cluck.

On second thought is is funny. LOL
