Growing up in a Polish family, I've gotta say that pierogi are the food of the Gods. I wish I had the time and leisure to make them, but my kids are too small and make even sandwich assembly a major project with constant interruptions. We settle for Mrs. T's at the moment (their cheese ones are ok), since pierogi are awfully hard to find down here in Louisiana. Someday I'll drag the hubby & kids up north for a pierogi festival, as they've never had fresh-made ones.

Yes they are truly food of the gods. I bought a ravioli/pierogi
maker which you lay the rolled dough out on, and you put in
fillings, close it and it cuts and seals them--presto!

Yup, a Southwestern Pennsylvania transplant who REALLY misses readily available pierogi!

Pierogi is truly a food fit for the gods. I'm like half Pollack, mixed in with some Italian,Lithuania, and Welsh.

Thanks for the links, I get tired of the old cheese and onion style. I once had cheese and brocoli stuffed, and it was fantastic. Keep an eye out for sourcreme and chive ones too, very addicting.

Up here in PA, theres always a pierogi place around.

I live 10 miles from the Mrs T's pierogi plant. In fact I use to work there as a teen . The strangest ones were prune, they didn't go over too well cause now they're gone.
However being Polish I make a great batch of home made pierogies myself.
Also, we have street parties here all summer hosted by churches and fire companys and they have a lot of the old ladys in the town making them to sell for fundraisers at the block parties.

Northeastern WI. here (Polish/German country)... everyone makes fun of the Polishs... but dang they cook some good food... My Grandma...... hmmmmmmmmmm.... she can cook

My Grandma was Ukranian and she made the best ones on earth,, to me of course, Ty for the recipes, my Mom still makes em herself.
