Earthquake "is in the air"!.... Dimitar Ouzounov at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Centre in Maryland and his team present the data from the Great Tohoku earthquake 9.0 which devastated Japan on 11 March. Infrared emissions above the epicenter increased dramatically in the days before the devastating earthquake in Japan, say scientists.

They say that before the M9 earthquake, the total electron content of the ionosphere increased dramatically over the epicentre, reaching a maximum three days before the quake struck. At the same time, satellite observations showed a big increase in infrared emissions from above the epicentre, which peaked in the hours before the quake. In other words, the atmosphere was heating up.

Last year, some fascinating data from the DEMETER spacecraft showing a significant increase in ultra-low frequency radio signals before the magnitude 7.0 Haiti earthquake in January 2010.
Now a new clue and a confirm.
Their results, although preliminary, are eye-opening.

The usual shoot 'em up and blow 'em up wars are on their way out, I believe. The future of warfare will be more and more secretive using invisible and illusive weapons so that blame will never find the culprit.

I would not be at all suprised if this was caused by a weather-warfare type weapon. I wouldn't go so far to say that its HAARP, however. Its illogical to believe that we are the only ones using this technology. If we have it, its safe to assume someone else does too.

ok. I kinda sorta see katrina and japan, but haiti ? indonesia ? when I see earthquakes hitting chinese or indian industrial locations, or north korea nuclear plants, I'll be convinced

My two minute take on this is that they might have been monitoring the fault from a distance using the haarp technology. There is a lot of mass associated with plate tectonics. That would change the amount of time a signal bouncing off the ionosphere arrives at a remote monitoring station due to gravitational delay. Must still be classified though and anyone working on such a system would be required to sign a non disclosure document.

Either that or they just used the HAARP death beam to wipe out Japan.

I don't know anything about Infrared emissions but, if it's possible to see an infrared spike at the target site (Japan).
Would it be safe to assume that the source would also show a similar spike in Infrared emissions?

Is it possible there is a similar Infrared emissions map like this from over the H.A.R.P. Station?
Or perhaps even a world map?
If there is nothing over the HARP station, maybe something can be found elsewhere on the globe, perhaps even a previously unknown facility of some kind.

I can't seem to find a map yet, but will post if I find anything.

I don't think the ionospheric heaters used by the HAARP technology are infrared wavelength but when they heat the ionosphere with radiation it increases the reflectivity. Originally this was used to improve ship to shore radio communication capability. The technology probably dates back to German submarine communications in WW2.

My take on the situation was that the infrared source was just the warm earth radiating outward naturally into space. You could theoretically track areas in the ionosphere that were being heated by looking for the more or less uniform infrared radiation being reflected back from the ionosphere. The areas of the ionosphere being heated become more reflective.

I think the ocean and atmosphere would insulate the direct heat signature from a plate movement but those don't shield gravity signatures.
