What on earth are you going on about. Sharia law has not superceded our own laws. By the way we have two sets of laws here British (england,wales and northern ireland) and Scottish. Scotland has a seperate legal system.

Yes, but it can't be dismissed that she was probably most likely scared out of her wits at the thought of him springing back up and continuing to assault her. It's like a person who is scared of spiders repeatedly smashing the spider until there is no question that it won't scare you again... only in this case the spider was a human who the victim thought was going to rape her.

While I don't condone overdoing something, who's to say that she was in the right frame of mind or understanding that she knew she was overexerted herself? Most people aren't trained fighters who know how much force to apply to someone in order to prevent themselves from being raped by the guy in the shadows.

This whole situation is ridiculous. Had that happened here in Florida, after he got his ass kicked the cops would show up, handcuff him too tight, do a rough search of his person, help him bump his head getting into the police car, help him trip getting out of the police car and help him fall down a lot on his way into the jail. I frown on police brutality except in a few cases. One of them being when some creepy old man is stalking a young woman.

Unfortunately, things like this happen because we LET them happen. We ALLOW such travesties of justice to occur because we are complacent, lazy, and whipped.

Notice how everyone in this thread is OUTRAGED by this travesty of justice. I literally felt my skin get hot upon reading this story because it is so incredulous and unjust. So if we, by common sense, see this is absolutely wrong by almost unanimous opinion, what does that tell us? It tells us that our leaders and lawmakers are so far detached from common sense and the common people that they need to have their memory refreshed in terms of who is in charge. WE are in charge, Guys.

Do you think the police would be fined if they went 'too far' with a suspect who attacked one of their own? Why not? Because they know they need to defend themselves, even if disproportionately against an attacker. Do you think an elite would be fined for going 'too far' with an attacker? Why not? Because they know they need to defend themselves, even if disproportionately against an attacker.

This is being purposefully done against the people to program us not to defend ourselves.

If this continues, it is OUR FAULT for allowing it. This woman needs to rip up that fine in front of parliament, continue her cause in the media, and the people need to be behind her all the way. If not, one day it could be your daughter, wife, mother, or sister raped and dead in an alley way or in trouble with the law for defending herself against such an attack.

One day it could be your son, husband, father, or brother robbed and dead or in trouble with the law for defending himself.

Stand up and say 'HELL NO' to your government. Please. For ALL of our sakes. Do not allow them to victimize us.

A TERRIFIED teenage girl has been fined £500 for knocking unconscious a masked stranger who stalked her home from a nightclub in what lawyers have called an "exceptional" case.

Claire Burleigh, 19, was pounced on by Sean Docherty, 43, as she was about to open the door of her Bathgate home, Livingston Sheriff Court heard yesterday.

Docherty had earlier been thrown out of the nightclub following a drunken argument.

wheres defense and offense start and stop?

if a TRAINED Group of men who are trained and PAID to do the right thing in extreme cases can shoot a gun 60 times firing over 70 shots

then a girl being attacked outside her home has the right to kick the attacker as many times as she does because she is scared, not trained nor paid to do the exact RIGHT THING

so maybe if the right thing is stopping the moment the person is subdued

in the heat of battle, and you are in the battle, will you know exactly when that moment is and hold back in mid swing?

I havnt read all the replys, and Ive had a few beers, but F that dude. Somethin like this happenin to a woman I know, even my moms, I would go to jail to prevent. PERIOD. I havnt even clicked on the link an yes it is 3:48am, and Ive just been in the dungeons with the fritters. I hope that guy gets his just deserts.....with gravy or somthin....

EDIT: also, don't know if this has been mentioned, hopefully someone will see this, but what if she said she used karate or jujitsu(insert favorite self defense here) as self defense, would she still be under such scrutiny? seeings as those are legal and paid for practices right?
